What did Christine Quinn say about Chrishell Stause’s divorce?

As seen on Selling Sunset, Stause’s then-husband, actor Justin Hartley, filed for divorce seemingly out of the blue.

Stause said on the show, “I found out because he texted me. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew. I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it’s like, we were together for six years… In a fight, that’s his go-to—like, ‘I’m out, I’m out.’ I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought that’s just an issue, that we work through it.”

While many cast members on Selling Sunset immediately chose to side with Stause, Quinn and another cast member, Davina Potratz, have been acting as a devil’s advocate. The two of them have been adamant about not taking sides and even questioned whether Stause was really as blind-sided as she claimed.

“We heard that they were in therapy, so obviously there were some issues going on with them,” Quinn told Page Six.

In an interview with the podcast Not Skinny But Not Fat, Quinn also accused Stause of “trying to have this portrayal of Justin Hartley being such a bad guy and just walking out on her.”

Christine Quinn does not regret making those comments

While Quinn’s comments have attracted some criticism from both Stause and Selling Sunset viewers, she does not regret making them.

“The thing is, do I regret bringing it up? No, not at all,” Quinn told E!’s Daily Pop. “I have my right to have my own opinion. That’s okay. And that’s what makes a show and what makes it fun. If we all got along and had the same opinion…it’d be boring.”

It seems to many viewers that Quinn and Stause have never gotten along. Even in the very first episode, Quinn could be seen making judgments about Stause’s personality and fashion sense. However, Quinn once revealed that they actually used to get along.

“From day one, obviously the producers had certain things in mind. They wanted us to clash obviously,” she told Brandi Glanville’s Unfiltered podcast, according to Us Weekly. “At first, we didn’t. We got along great. We were friends. She was at my house. We were drinking, having a good time. I was getting to know her and then the storylines came into play.”

At first, Quinn and Stause tried to separate their feuds on the show from their real-life friendship. Yet, at some point, what the line between reality and TV began to blur.

Quinn recalled, “We thought that we were good at separating things. Then we realized, ‘Oh s–t! This is affecting our real lives.’ I never wanted to fight with her. Are you kidding? Her and I had drinks. I made her dinner. I didn’t want that. That wasn’t me.”

Although Quinn has shared on Daily Pop that she and Stause have talked to each other since season three ended, it seems the two have not been able to get their relationship back to what it used to be.
