‘Selling Sunset’: Mary Fitzgerald Hopes Jason Oppenheim Will Change His Mind About Having Kids

Selling Sunset’s cast members Mary Fitzgerald and Jason Oppenheim were once romantic partners, though they have remained friends throughout the years. Mary recently opened up about Jason’s love life and shared that she hopes the 45-year-old real estate broker would want a family in the future.

Jason Oppenheim’s recent relationship ended because he did not want kids 

In 2021, Jason had a relationship with fellow Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause. However, by the end of the year, the relationship had ended due to their differences in family planning goals.

“Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward,” Chrishell said in a statement. “Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes. All of that being said, navigating this public terrain is difficult and I am just trying my best.”

Jason also said, “She was the most amazing girlfriend I’ve ever had, and it was the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life. While we have different wants regarding a family, we continue to have the utmost respect for one another.”

Chrishell has been very open about wanting kids. In 2020—months after her divorce from ex-husband Justin Hartley—Chrishell told People that she was trying to freeze her eggs.

“I have taken the steps to freeze my eggs,” she said. “I’m going to do everything I can to take that power in the situation, and hopefully, that will empower me going forward in the dating world, so there’s not so much pressure.”

Mary Fitzgerald hopes Jason Oppenheim will change his mind about having kids

Mary, who used to date Jason and is now a close friend of Chrishell, recently shared that she hopes Jason would consider having kids in the future.

“He’s such a great guy, and he’s such a great dad to our puppies,” Mary told Us Weekly. “You can just see how much love he has when he actually wraps his head around something. He never wanted dogs, either. He was annoyed that I had a dog, and now, like, our dogs are his life.”

She added, “I think he would be an amazing father. I hope he comes around to it because his kid would be very lucky.”

Jason and Chrishell’s romance happened while the cast was filming the fifth season of Selling Sunset. As such, fans will get an inside look into their relationship.

In the trailer for the new season, the subject of kids was even brought up. During a meal, an older woman asked Jason and Chrishell about family planning, though fans will have to tune in to see how that conversation played out.

The fifth season of Selling Sunset will premiere on Netflix on April 22.
