‘Sex and the City’: Justin Theroux Played These 2 Men in the Show
Justin Theroux played these 2 men in the show
Theroux first appeared as Jared in the season 1 episode “The Monogamists.” Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) realizes Big (Chris Noth) is dating multiple women, and she wants a monogamous relationship. Jared is an author who knows Stanford (Willie Garson) and has a brief interaction with Carrie.
He brags about a glowing review of his book in that short time and suggests she write about him in her column. He invites her to a party, but Carrie doesn’t go.
Theroux later returns as a short-story writer, Vaughn Wysel, in the next season. He’s in the episode, “Shortcomings,” where Carrie dumps him despite liking his family. Sadly, Vaughn didn’t last in the bedroom, and his family weirdly knows about it.
How did the actor get cast as two different men? “Sex and the City was one of those shows that they burned through every actor in the first couple seasons, I guess,” Theroux explained on Couch Surfing, according to W magazine. “It’s like Law & Order: It’s kind of a rite of passage. You have to do Sex and the City.”
Justin Theroux said he’d love to return
The full cast for the revival has yet to be revealed, and fans are left wondering which men will return. Theroux seems up for returning, but he hasn’t received a call.
“Let me check my email or see if anyone called. I still have no email from Sarah Jessica,” he told E! News. He then answered if he would even want to come back.
“Yeah, of course, I would love to,” he said. “If they wanted to have me, I’d do Sex and The City again.”
There are few details about the revival currently available. The biggest one is that one of the stars won’t be returning.
Which ‘Sex and the City’ men are returning for the revival?
Parker, Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) are returning to play their original characters. Kim Cattrall won’t be returning as Samantha Jones.
That also leaves the question of which men will be returning. Page Six reported Noth wouldn’t be returning as Mr. Big. It was also reported that David Eigenberg was in negotiations to return as Miranda’s husband, Steve. But Noth later responded to the report on Instagram writing, “Well. if Page Six says it… it must be true [wink emoji],” according to ET. So there is a good chance both love interests will be back.
Garson has confirmed he’ll be back as Stanford. Charlotte is married to Harry (Evan Handler), and it hasn’t been confirmed whether he’ll be back.
