More actors are coming aboard the Sex and the City reboot. Titled And Just Like That…, the series will once again focus on Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), and all of those who rotate their glamorous lives. That includes new actors Alexa Swinton, Cathy Ang, Niall Cunningham, and Cree Cicchino.

Production on ‘And Just Like That…’ is underway

The Sex and the City revival was confirmed in January, following months of fan and media speculation. The announcement predated years of attempts at another SATC project, including a third movie, which was scrapped in 2018 amid Kim Cattrall’s decision to retire her role as Samantha Jones.

The Samantha-less revival will focus on “Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Nixon), and Charlotte (Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

There’s no release date for And Just Like That… just yet, but that’s no surprise. With production on the show kicking off only weeks ago, it’s probably too early to say when it’ll make it to the air. But it’s possible the revival will premiere in 2022.

The cast of the ‘Sex and the City’ revival is growing

In addition to Parker, Nixon, and Davis, the returning cast includes Chris Noth (Mr. Big), John Corbett (Aiden Shaw), Willie Garson (Stanford Blatch), David Eigenberg (Steve Brady), Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt), and Mario Cantone (Anthony Marentino).

New faces have also been announced. That includes Sara Ramirez as podcaster Che Diaz, Nicole Ari Parker as a documentary maker and mother of three named Lisa Todd Wexley; Karen Pittman as Dr. Nya Wallace; and Sarita Choudhury as real estate broker Seema Patel.

Variety adds that Swinton will play Rose, the daughter of Charlotte and Harry; Ang will be their other daughter, Lily; Cunningham has been cast as Miranda and Steve’s son, Brady; and Cicchino is Brady’s girlfriend, Luisa.

At least one actor has already been seen filming

As of writing, the actors have not commented on their involvement in the show. But TVLine reports that Swinton was spotted in July on the set of the revival, which is filming in New York.

At just 12 years old, she already has a number of acting credits under her belt, including the hit NBC series Manifest, but she’s perhaps best recognized for her role as Eva Rhoades on Billions. Premiering in 2016, Billions follows hedge fund manager Bobby Axelrod’s quest for money and power. The series has been a hit with both fans and critics, currently holding an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now, Swinton, Ang (Ramy), Cunningham (Awkward), and Cicchino (Game Shakers) are taking their talents to the Sex and the City revival. And Just Like That… our excitement for the show has grown even more. Stay tuned for more updates on the series as they become available.
