The fans of Sex and the City have been torn between Mr. Big (Chris Noth) and Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). That’s because each character was an important love interest for Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker). Parker explained why she felt like she had to be Team Big.

Carrie was caught between Big and Aidan on ‘Sex and the City’

The most stressful love triangle was between Carrie, Big, and Aidan. Big had the money, and always seemed emotionally unavailable. Aidan was very much ready for a relationship with Carrie, but his outdoor lifestyle didn’t mesh well with her love for the city.

Many fans were angry at Carrie for not committing to Aidan after he proposed. It didn’t help that she cheated on him with Big before they broke up. She later finds out he’s happily married and has a baby by the end of the series. Ultimately Big and Carrie got married in the first movie.

Carrie comes across Aidan again in the sequel. They kiss but Carrie stays married to Big. Corbett thought that movie should have played out differently.

“I actually think they should’ve f—-d,” he told The News. “I thought the kissing was a little high school, you know, for that audience. I think that she should’ve just done a full-on adulterous cheat.”

Fans have been torn between the two characters. But Parker appeared on the podcast, The Bradshaw Boys and gave her reason for being Team Big.

“As you can imagine, this puts me in a terrible position,” she said. “There is a very quick and simple answer. You have to be Team Big or Team John (Big’s real name). I guess, only because you can’t tell a story that long and not in the most conventional way kind of root for that ending. And I love Chris Noth so much, and it felt wonderfully and skillfully written by Michael Patrick [King].”

She did make note that Aidan was also a great option for her character. “But I love John Corbett so much and I loved Aidan. I loved his Aidan,” Parker said. “The best of both worlds is in fact having your cake and eating it too. So I feel like I got both teams. Ultimately, Carrie should have ended up with Big, but it was a delight to mess around before she arrived at that.”

This might be disappointing to some Sex and the City fans. But it sounds like star wants to stand behind the story the writers want to tell with her character. Carrie is very drawn to Mr. Big so she wants to root for their relationship to work out in the end.
