‘Shameless’ Co-Stars Ian and Mickey Never Dated in Real Life, but Cameron Monaghan Did Date 1 Co-Star Off-Screen

'Shameless' fans find it hard to believe that Ian and Mickey aren't together in real life. However, Ian did date one of his co-stars off-screen.

‘Shameless’ Mickey is happily married to a woman in real life

The actor who portrays Mickey, Noel Fisher, often gets asked about his marriage to Ian when he runs into fans on the street. His viewers have a hard time believing that the two aren’t a real couple off-screen. However, the star married his longtime girlfriend, Layla Alizada, in 2017.

Fisher met Alizada on the set of Godiva, which they co-starred in, in 2004. However, he didn’t propose to her until 10 years later, in 2014. The two finally tied the knot on July 15, 2017.

‘Shameless’ Ian is in a new relationship with a model

Cameron Monaghan is dating model Lauren Searle. Not much is known about the relationship, but it began sometime in 2020. The first clue that fans had about the relationship was when Searle posted a series of photos to her Instagram stories of the two hiking together. According to CelebSuburb, she shared the images in September 2020, but fans believe they began dating several months earlier.

Searle works for Vision Los Angeles and Heros Model, two of the top fashion and beauty agencies. She began modeling while in high school.

Monaghan made the relationship Instagram official on Oct. 7, 2020, with a racy picture. In the photo, taken through a tent where the two might have stayed the night before, he is on top of his girlfriend. In the next image, he’s kissing her.

A few days later, Searle shared a photo of a hand holding dipping sauce for her with the caption, “First fried pickle courtesy of my personal sauce holder and lover.” She tagged Monaghan as the sauce holder.

Although neither party announced that they are dating, their social media accounts share bits and pieces of the story.

Monaghan once dated Lip Gallagher’s on-screen girlfriend

Sierra Morton (Ruby Modine) is a recurring character in Shameless, who first appears in Season 7 as one of the new servers Fiona (Emmy Rossum) hired at Patsy’s Pies. She quickly becomes friends with Fiona and then takes an interest in Lip. The two end up in an on-again-off-again relationship until she leaves the series after season 8.

During her time on the show, Modine ended updating Monaghan from October 2016 to March 2017. However, the relationship didn’t last long — only five months. There aren’t any details about what went wrong. Hopefully, Monaghan’s new relationship will last longer since they aren’t co-starring in a series together.
