Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello Just Took a Big Step in Their Relationship by Adopting Their First Puppy Together

On Nov. 3, Mendes introduced his and Cabello’s newly-adopted puppy, Tarzan, in a series of adorable photos and videos he shared on Instagram.

In the first photo, the “Stitches” singer gives fans an up-close view of the adorable pup, who appears to either be a Labrador or golden retriever.

The musician also shared a clip of the puppy cuddling with Cabello in the back seat of a car as he drove as well as a video of the happy couple playing around with a curious Tarzan on the ground.

“Hi Tarzan 🥺❤️,” Mendes captioned the post.

After introducing the blonde pooch on Instagram, many of the couple’s followers gushed over their new pet in the comments section.

“OMG!!!!!!,” supermodel Hailey Bieber penned. “omg!!! We gotta have a puppy play date,” singer and DJ Mahogany Lox wrote.

Adopting a puppy together just took Cabello and Mendes’ romance to the next level

Cabello and Mendes started dating in July 2019, and have been isolating at Cabello’s home in Miami amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Though fans recently speculated that the pair had split, it’s pretty clear their relationship is still going strong.

In September 2020, the “Havana” singer took to Instagram to gush over her beau’s new album Wonder that’s dropping on Dec. 4, seemingly confirming that they’re still smitten with each other.

“My love, I’m so proud of the person you are and I’m so excited for people to see and hear your heart,” Camila captioned the post, which Mendes replied to with the puppy dog eyes emoji and a red heart.

The following month, Mendes revealed on an episode of SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup that he and Cabello did spend time apart physically but suggested that they remained in constant contact.

“She’s doing amazing. I haven’t seen her actually in like a month and two weeks, not that I’m counting,” Shawn revealed during the Oct. 2 episode of SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup.

He even gave the former Fifth Harmony singer major credit for helping him with his new album.

“She really was a champion for this album,” the “Treat You Better” crooner said during the interview. “I remember back when I first started a lot of the concepts, and they felt a little bit intimidating. She was like, ‘Go, keep going, keep going.’ And she would do this thing like once a month, ‘Hey, just a reminder, this concept you’re on is incredible. It’s going to make people feel something really special. Don’t stop. Don’t stop. Don’t stop.’ And it was this force of energy that I think was really helpful to keep me on a real cohesive [path].”

A few weeks later, the couple finally reunited, and by Halloween, they were back to sharing photos of each other on social media.

So, even though many of us found ourselves questioning the status of Mendes and Cabello’s relationship a few months back, it’s clear their romance is just getting more serious as time goes on.
