Sheree Whitfield of ‘RHOA’ Takes to Instagram Asking Public to Help Find Her Missing Mother
Sheree Whitfield is a longtime fan favorite of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Known for her love of fashion, physical fitness, and the iconic phrase “Who Gon’ Check Me Boo?” – Whitfield was an original member of the Atlanta franchise and though she hasn’t been part of the cast for several years, she left a lasting mark on viewers.
Whitfield displayed her close family ties throughout her time on the show. Fans were shocked when she took to Instagram to ask for help in locating her mother, whom she says has been missing for several weeks.
Sheree Whitfield on ‘RHOA’
Whitfield was part of the inaugural cast of RHOA. She joined shortly after her split from former NFL player, Bob Whitfield. At the time, Whitfield was basking in her new single life and anticipating a huge settlement in her divorce to maintain her fabulous lifestyle – and to help support her and Bob’s two children.
Throughout the next three seasons, Whitfield’s issues with Bob played out on camera and they battled over child support. Whitfield also experienced changes in her friendships with her co-stars, most notably Nene Leakes after they fell out over a business deal gone wrong. Still, she remained a favorite on the show and fans rooted for Whitfield when she began living independently of Bob’s wealth and started her own clothing company, She By Sheree.
Whitfield left the series after four seasons to avoid chronicling her drama with Bob. She returned as a friend to the show in season 7 and finished building her dream home, Chateau Sheree. Her and Bob tried rekindling their relationship but she decided to end things after revealing she’d dealt with domestic abuse in their past marriage. She left the show for good after season 10.

Whitfield mother, Thelma, made several appearances with her during her time on RHOA. She was a constant support of Whitfield during Whitfield’s public custody and child support battle with her ex. Whitfield also threw her mother a disco-themed birthday bash on the show. The two have had an extremely close relationship. Whitfield has always praised her mother for raising her as a single mother and doing her best to make her proud in return.
Sadly, Whitfield’s mother has been missing for the past several weeks. Usually private about her personal life and family, Whitfield took to Instagram to share the news and ask for the public’s help in her search.
“In the past, my mom has taken personal vacations without letting the family know and we respect that side of her. However, this is the longest she have [has] gone without reaching out to anyone from the family or her friends,” Whitfield wrote in part of the post with a photo of her mother smiling. “Right now we are leaning on God and staying positive and prayerful for her safe return home.”
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution revealed that Thema has been missing since March 23 after leaving her home to go to the bank. Whitfield revealed that she’s been in constant contact with local authorities in hopes of her mother’s safe return. She’s asking the public for their help and listed a phone number and email address for people to contact with information regarding her mother’s whereabouts.
