Turns out Marvel fans aren’t the only ones who think Brie Larson and Chris Evans should date in real life. During a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host admitted that Evans and Larson, who play Captain America and Captain Marvel in the MCU, should seriously consider getting together – and we could not agree more!

Fallon dishes on Evans and Larson dating

The romance talk heated up during a game of Pour It Out with Fallon and Kendall Jenner. The game features a selection of shots that are sitting on top of questions. Each person has to say their answer before choosing to reveal the question out loud or take the shot – which keeps it a secret.

At one point in the game, Fallon mentioned Evans and Larson as one of his answers. After the crowd pleaded with him to reveal the question, the late-night host said that they are the two people he would love to see date in real life.

Chris Evans and Brie Larson, of course, have worked together on the big screens and are familiar with the romance rumors. Most recently, the two appeared alongside each other in Avengers: Endgame.

Although fans would love to see the pair get together in real life, their time working together in the superhero world might be at an end.

Will Evans and Larson team up in the MCU?

Marvel is currently gearing up for the start of Phase 4 of the MCU. The studio recently revealed its full schedule for the next two years and, sadly, a Captain Marvel sequel was not on the list.

There is little doubt that Marvel will move forward with at least one more film in the franchise, especially given the success of Captain Marvel. But when that happens is still up in the air. Larson will likely reprise the role in other movies, but a solo flick appears to be a few years out.

Even worse, Chris Evans’s time in the MCU is likely over. Captain America’s storyline in Endgame concluded with the character traveling back in time to live with the love of his life. He then reappeared as an old man at the end of the movie.

With Captain America now an old man, it is unlikely that we will see Evans reprise the role alongside Larson’s Captain Marvel in future films. That does not mean the two cannot start dating, but they probably won’t be working together in the MCU anytime soon.

Brie Larson prepping for Captain Marvel role

Although Marvel has not revealed plans for another Captain Marvel movie, Larson has been staying in top shape for the role. The actress has been sharing photos and videos of her workouts on social media, sparking speculation that she might reprise the role sooner than expected.

Larson’s personal trainer, Jason Walsh, has also been sharing her workouts on social media. Walsh has not given away any details, but it definitely looks like the two are up to something.

The next film in the MCU lineup is Black Widow, which is scheduled to open in May of 2020. The movie will be followed by The Eternals, which is slated for a November 2020 release, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which premieres in February of 2021.

Marvel is also gearing up for several new television shows, including The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, and Hawkeye. Larson has not commented on future appearances in the MCU.

Chris Evans steps away from Marvel

While fans are still holding out hope for another Captain America appearance, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. recently opened up about retiring his MCU jersey alongside Evans.

Downey, whose 2008 Iron Man movie launched the MCU, revealed that he is happy with how his character’s journey ended. He is also thrilled to be retiring with Evans, with whom he has become good friends over the years.

“There’s something very sobering about it,” Downey shared. “I’m glad he and I will be there to welcome others as they retire their jerseys.”

Chris Evans has not said anything about potentially returning to the MCU, though there are rumors that he could reprise his role as Captain America for one last outing. Unfortunately, nothing official has been confirmed.
