‘Sister Wives’: Christine Brown Admits That Kody Brown Feud Is Years in the Making

Kody Brown has spent years battling with his first wife, Meri Brown. The tension was so obvious that Sister Wives fans might have missed growing resentment in another one of Kody’s marriages. Kody’s third wife, Christine Brown, recently admitted her marriage has been in bad shape ever since the Browns moved to Flagstaff.

Sister Wives fans are fully aware of Kody Brown’s issues with his first wife, Meri Brown. TLC has heavily featured the disintegration of the couple’s marriage on the family’s reality TV show. What has shocked some fans is the recent tension between Kody and his third wife, Christine Brown. Now, Christine is speaking out and has admitted that the problems in her marriage are nothing new.

Christine Brown reveals that she’s been struggling in her marriage for two years

Christine has dropped the happy act and is letting fans know that her marriage isn’t a fairytale. In a recent sneak peek, the mother of six admitted that her marriage to Kody has been in “rough shape” for a couple of years. While some fans believe Christine is interested in monogamy, she insists that isn’t the case. In an interview with Us Weekly, she said she enjoys the freedom and independence that polygamy has afforded her, but she often feels that her opinion doesn’t matter.

While Christine is struggling with elements of polygamy, her husband is opening up another wife about what has been going on behind closed doors. Kody told Meri that he didn’t realize that he and another wife were unhappy for all the years of their marriage. He went on to suggest he has no interest in trying to make the unnamed wife happy. While he didn’t name the wife in question, Sister Wives fans can read between the lines.

Christine Brown is more interested than ever in returning to Utah

The biggest issue in Kody and Christine’s marriage appears to be her desire to leave Flagstaff and return to Utah. In 2010, when Sister Wives began, the Brown family resided in Utah. They left the state under fear of prosecution and settled in Las Vegas. The decision to live in Las Vegas seemed to work for most of the family for nearly a decade. Kody then decided he was ready to move on and picked Flagstaff, Arizona, as their new hometown. The decision was rushed and has caused nothing but trouble.

Christine is now interested in returning to Utah, where several of her children have settled. Mykelti Padron, Aspyn Thompson, and Paedon Brown all live in the Utah area. Christine’s other three children, Gwendlyn Brown, Ysabel Brown, and Truely Brown, are still living at home with Christine. Christine is also anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild. Mykelti and her husband, Tony Padron, announced they were expecting in September 2020.

Could Sister Wives chronicle Christine Brown and Kody Brown’s divorce?

While neither Christine nor Kody appears particularly interested in working on their relationship, Christine will likely be the one to call it if the couple ends up divorced. That is if Kody’s behavior with Meri extends to his third wife. Kody has made it clear that he has no interest in having a relationship with Meri but has also made it clear that he won’t push for a spiritual divorce. If Meri wants complete freedom, she’ll need to get it herself. The same seems to be true for Christine.

While Meri seems somewhat content with living her own life while still, technically, spiritually married to Kody, Christine doesn’t appear to be interested in doing the same. If she leaves Flagstaff for Utah, family followers believe she’ll seek a spiritual divorce from Kody. When and if that will happen remains to be seen.
