‘Sister Wives’: Fans Are Irritated With Meri Brown For The Way She Comforted Christine Brown

Meri Brown and Christine Brown are the two wives of Kody Brown that seem the least dedicated to polygamy at this point. Still, family followers can't get past Meri's insistence that Christine can't quit her marriage. They question why Meri is trying to force Christine to stay in a marriage that no longer serves her.

Kody Brown of Sister Wives fame appears to have two disgruntled wives this season. While fans have grown accustomed to Kody battling it out with his first wife, Meri Brown, they were surprised to see Christine Brown, Kody’s third wife, voice her unhappiness. Forever happy-go-lucky Christine has reached her breaking point, and she wants out of her marriage. Brown family followers are fine with that, but they are pretty annoyed with the way Meri tried to console her sister wife following a breakdown.

Kody Brown and Meri Brown have had marital problems for years

Christine might be the most recent of Kody’s wives to express displeasure in the marriage, but he is no stranger to marital discord. Kody and his first wife, Meri, have been largely estranged for the last six years. While they remain spiritually linked to each other, most of their time is spent bickering, fighting, and rehashing the details of a long-dead issue.

To fans of Sister Wives, Meri and Kody’s problems appeared to begin when Meri was roped into a catfishing scandal. Upon closer inspection, the couple was deeply troubled for years before that. Now, their relationship is barely a relationship. They have admitted that they rarely see each other and only discuss business topics when they finally sit down. A few seasons back, Christine and fellow sister wives, Janelle Brown and Robyn Brown, were concerned that Meri would walk away from the family. Now, she’s the one telling others they have to stay.

Christine recently voiced a desire to leave her marriage

In recent episodes, Christine has finally begun to voice her displeasure. The mother of six appeared to be the biggest proponent of polygamy for the first several years of Sister Wives. Fans long assumed Christine’s interest in polygamy has a little something to do with her family’s connection to the practice. Christine was born into a family heavily rooted in the polygamist lifestyle. Family members on both sides of Christine’s family led religious sects.

Finally, she seems over it, and if what she is saying is true, Christine has felt displaced and hurt in her marriage for years. Recently, Christine recalled how Kody’s refusal to shower in her apartment made her feel like the least favorite wife. The indiscretion occurred when the family was still living in Utah. They left the state for Las Vegas in 2010. She has also described her wedding day as morose. In the family’s book, Becoming Sister Wives, Kody admitted that he did not feel an attraction toward Christine when he married her.

Fans are angry about Meri’s insistence that Christine doesn’t get to quit in the Sister Wives trailer

In the explosive season trailer, Christine made it clear that she wanted out of her marriage. Meri, in an attempt to console Christine followed her outside and insisted that Christine can’t just quit her marriage. The statement, meant to show Christine how important she was to the family, didn’t sit right with fans.
