In part two of Sister Wives ‘One-on-One’ reunion, Kody Brown gets reals about his relationship with his older sons, Gabriel “Gabe” and Garrison Brown. He said that his relationship, as it stands now, needs work. He admits, “We need therapy.”

Kody gives an update on his relationships with Gabriel and Garrison

During season 16 of Sister Wives, Kody Brown wanted him and Janelle’s sons Gabriel and Garrison to abide by his strict coronavirus (COVID-19) rules, which resulted in pushback and fighting. However, as young college students, they weren’t able to lockdown as they were still going to school and work. Kody wanted his sons to also stop seeing their significant others as well.

At a very heated point in season 16, Kody and Gabriel have a heart-to-heart conversation about how the coronavirus rules have negatively impacted individual relationships within the family. Gabe opened his heart to his father about their relationship, but Kody was more focused on how the family’s overall lack of respect for him.

Kody says, ‘We need therapy’

On the Feb. 6 episode of Sister Wives, Kody reveals where their relationship stands today. The reunion host, Sukanya Krishnan, asked Kody, “Gabe and Garrison have been a real touchpoint, and you mentioned it before. Where is this relationship today?”

Kody winces before he responds, “Not good. Not talking.” He explains, “Well, I am a little bit, like once in a while. Touch base, you know. But it’s one of those relationships where we got to do a lot of work.”

However, Kody still agrees that there is a lack of respect. He says, “That’s it in a nutshell.”He says, “I make rules. You guys abide by them.”

The reunion host asks, “Are you off course with your relationship with Gabe and Garrison?” He replies, “Oh yeah. We need therapy.” He continues, “Yeah, I need to sit down with my boys and get something straight because I am… I’ve gotten to the point where I’m so angry about what happened, we’re not communicating. And I think they are too.”

Janelle says their relationships are ‘strained’

The reunion host then asks Janelle what she thinks about Kody and her sons’ relationships. She says that Gabe and Garrison have difficulty respecting their father because he’s “dividing the family” with his strict coronavirus rules.

She admits that the boys attempted to follow Kody’s rules, but after being dishonest about following them, Kody didn’t trust them.

The host asks Janelle, “Where is the relationship between the boys and Kody now?” She replies, “Still very strained. Yeah, it’s still very strained.” She reveals, “They have since moved out.”

She revealed that Kody is in a difficult situation as “several of his children are at odd with him.”

It appears that Kody has some damage control to do within his relationships with his children after the devastation of coronavirus. Part three of the Sister Wives reunion airs Sunday, Feb. 13 on TLC and discovery+.
