Kody, Christine, Meri, Janelle, and Robyn discuss their Coyote pass property

In a sneak peek of the premiere episode of Sister Wives Season 16 (via PEOPLE), airing Sunday on TLC, Kody, and his four wives discuss their property in Flagstaff, Arizona. Kody, Christine, Meri, Janelle, and Robyn are trying to figure out where they will put their homes on Coyote pass.

But things aren’t great between the wives. In the clip, Christine talks about how her dream is to move back to Utah. Robyn tearfully tells the cameras. “Christine is upset. I understand it.” She says, “It’s scary, it’s been absolutely scary, what our family culture is looking like because we are not spending time together.” 

While the sister wives discuss how they feel about the situation, Kody is more focused on figuring out where they will build their homes on their Arizona property. He says, “We have to get all the property boundaries figured out though, that we have to do because we have to be able to move on that.” He concludes, “We don’t want to wait any longer.” 

Christine gets honest about her ‘sad’ marriage with Kody

While Kody is busy figuring out where to build their homes, Christine doesn’t feel like she’s receiving Kody’s support. She says, “This whole thing is hard. It’s not just about moving back to Utah. It’s not just about that.”

She says, “I’m not going to make any drastic decisions on what I’m going to do next today — I am hurt today.” After the family meeting, Christine heads back to her car and tells the cameras, “I really needed his support. I really did.” 

Christine opens up about her troubled marriage, saying, “Marriage is hard. But I never wanted the kind of marriage that I have now.” She explains, “I never wanted to be so estranged and have extremely limited physical contact, not even hand-holding.” She concludes, “It’s sad. My Marriage to Kody is sad.”

Christine officially leaves Kody

Since filming ended, Christine announced her split with Kody Brown. On Nov 2, Kody’s third wife confirmed she would be leaving her plural marriage. She wrote a statement via Instagram. It reads: “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart, and I have made the difficult decision to leave.”

The Sister Wives star writes, “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family.” Christine’s statement ends by asking fans for “grace and kindness” as they navigate through their difficult time. She captioned the post, “Thank you for understanding and compassion!”

Sister Wives fans are eager to find out what happened between Christine and Kody that caused their marriage to end. Sister Wives Season 16 airs Sunday on TLC.
