Park Hyung-sik and Han So-hee’s characters start to fall in love in ‘Soundtrack #1’ K-drama

The upcoming K-drama will entice fans with a heartwarming love story between two lifelong friends. In Soundtrack #1, Park stars as the male lead Han Sun-woo alongside Han as Lee Eun-so. Sun-woo is a charming and kind rookie photographer who had been friends with Eun-so for 20 years. She is a straightforward and honest lyricist who is open about her feelings.

Certain circumstances have the two characters live together for two weeks. Spending so much time together in one personal space leads them to unravel their feelings for one another. Eun-so’s songs interweave small nuances of their growing romance as a lyricist. Fans are in for a heartwarming, blush-worthy, and fairytale love story they can relate to.

‘Soundtrack #1’ K-drama will use its official soundtrack to get its music theme across

Soundtrack #1 has broken away from a commonly used rule by most K-dramas. The OST for the dramas is usually debuted shortly after its premiere. Seeing as Han and Park’s K-drama heavily focuses on a music theme, the producers and creators have so far released two OST’s before its official air date.

According to Soompi, the first OST, “Love Beyond Words,” is sung by Super Junior’s Kyuhyun. Park Bo Ram wrote and sang the second OST, “Want to Be Happy.” Soompi explains, “The lyrics speak of someone who wants to find love again and be happy despite the expectation that happiness might end with the breakup.”

In an interview with Allure reported by Soompi, Han explains, “As [my character] is a lyricist, I don’t sing, but while filming, I listened to a lot of good songs that would be used as the OST. All the songs were so sad, and seeing how much a song changed once lyrics were added was such a fascinating experience.”

Instead of traditional teasers for the Soundtrack #1 K-drama, the creators further stuck the music theme by releasing music videos. The videos show still images of Han and Park in their roles, looking cozy and engaging in domestic home life. With the emotional lyrics of the OSTs, fans can see how the two characters start to fall in love in the videos.

K-drama fans will have to wait a bit longer to know the exact premiere date for Soundtrack #1. No date has been announced, but the K-drama will debut in the first half of 2022. Some news outlets claim the K-drama will have a short run time of four episodes.

Han gives a bit more information regarding the K-drama during her Allure interview. “Since it’s a short drama that has to do with the feelings of your first love, it will be good to reminisce [through]. They did say it would premiere in the first half of the year, but when I sent [the director] a text yesterday, they said they were editing,” said the actor.

Park already made his grand return to the small-screen after being discharged from the military in the zombie-romance drama Happiness. His co-star Han had an astounding 2021 as she redefined a female lead character in My Name and starred alongside Song Kang in the mature romance Nevertheless.
