‘Southern Charm’: Craig Conover Calls Patricia Altschul’s Pillows a ‘Failure of a Company’
Craig Conover of Southern Charm has become a success story in the business world. The Bravo star had a passion for sewing that was often ridiculed by his fellow cast members. However, the joke is on them as Conover has been able to make a legitimate living out of selling pillows. His achievement has brought him competition and co-star Patricia Altschul has poked fun of Conover. During the season 7 reunion, this drama was brought up and Conover had some strong words for Altschul.
How did the feud start?
Altschul has a home accessory line as well and when Conover booked a home shopping network appearance, she made sure to tune in. When the pillow maker presented his line on TV, Altschul made some snarky remarks about her co-star that did not sit well with Conover.
“I’ll have pillows in my line but they’re totally different than Craig’s,” Altschul said on the show.
During the show’s interview, she added fuel to the fire by making a snarky comment that was sure to be seen by Conover himself.
“My pillows are unique and in the luxury category. Craig’s pillows are affordable,” she said before laughing.
Is Patricia Altschul jealous?
Altschul has used social media to make snarky comments about Conover. Fans of Southern Charm might remember when Altschul invited Conover to design a pillow for her home decor collection. At the time, Conover didn’t deliver and they were not able to go into business together.
Since that moment, Conover got his act together and is now associated with different distributors that have made his Sewing Down South company a hit. When Conover made an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, he was asked about the competition with Altschul, which he attributed to jealousy.
“Sewing Down South is doing very well and I root for everyone but I think Patricia’s jealousy is set in,” Conover said on the WWHL: After Show. “I don’t think she ever thought we were going to be this successful. And I don’t know why she turned into a catty little child about it. Our pillows are nothing alike. Hers are made in China, ours are made right here in the USA.”
Craig Conover calls Patricia Altschul’s company a failure
The topic of the pillow wars came up at the Southern Charm Season 7 reunion. Host Andy Cohen asked Conover he how felt that Altschul was shading his pillows.
“I was bummed, you know, I was just disappointed,” Conover said during the reunion. “Her pillows, they’re sold for $20 on the Internet. Our pillows are $58. HSN has purchased two more collections from us and she’s a failure of a company. I would never that stuff.”
“Don’t say that,” Madison LeCroy interjected.
“She is. Don’t poke me. I will f***ing root for you all you want, but her talking sh** and blatant lies,” Conover added.
Kathryn Dennis came in to defend Conover saying that it was “weird for an older person to be throwing shade at someone who is succeeding who is younger.”
Conover finished off saying he didn’t understand why Altschul was coming after him if he’s making money off of his pillows.
