How did Naomie Olindo come back to ‘Southern Charm’ Season 8?

Olindo started making appearances on Southern Charm in season 3, introduced as Craig Conover’s girlfriend. The couple chronicled the ups and downs of their relationship for about three seasons. Olindo became a full-time cast member in season 6 and showcased her happy life alongside her then-boyfriend Metul Shah. After season 6, Olindo opted not to return to the reality series and skipped filming season 7.

As it turns out, Olindo would only leave the Charleston-based show for one season as she will be returning in season 8. Olindo recently opened up about how she made her comeback after famously quitting.

“I had to like beg my way back [and] I was like, ‘Guys, please. I know I quit, and I know I told everybody to f*** off. But please, I’m very depressed, and I really want to come back. I don’t know what I’m going to do if I’m back in Charleston,’ and they’re like, ‘All right,’” she said on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast.

Why did Naomi Olindo leave ‘Southern Charm?’

Olindo left Southern Charm unexpectedly, and she hinted at the reason why she quit back in May 2020. The entrepreneur posted an Instagram Story where she blasted her co-star Kathrynn Dennis.

“To all those asking why Cameran, Chelsea and I (and anyone with a life they want to protect), quit the show, it’s s*** like this,” Olindo posted, according to an Instagram screenshot from The Post and Courier. “Shame on you Kathryn Dennis for this and many other things.”

Dennis was accused of spreading a rumor on the show regarding Cameran Eubanks’ husband having an affair. Eubanks also left the show after season 6, which she claims was not based on the rumor about her husband.

In the interview with The Skinny Confidential Him & Her, Olindo also claimed that she left to have a healthier relationship with her then-fiancé Metul.

“He’s a doctor, you know, those two things don’t really go hand in hand, and he was a resident, and he needed to apply for fellowships. I was totally willing to give up the show for what I thought to be a healthy and loving relationship because that’s what I would prioritize over a reality show, obviously,” Olindo said. “I had no problem doing that, but then when it ended up not being a healthy and loving relationship, I was like, ‘OK, well I’m single’ [and] the show opens doors for so many opportunities business-wise and stuff.”

Naomie Olindo reveals why she broke up with Metul Shah

The main reason that Olindo is back on the show is due to her breakup with her fiancé. Olindo and Shah were moving to New York City when she found out her fiancé had been cheating on her. The reality star found text messages between Shah and another woman on his computer, leading Olindo to call off the engagement.

“I called him, and I was, like, ‘Hey, I just want you to know, I saw the messages with Sophie, and this is done.’ And hung up the phone, and he tried to call me, you know, a hundred times,” Olindo said.
