Thomas Ravenel feuds with Shep Rose

Politics in the U.S. have created a big divide, which can even be seen between the Southern Charm cast members. Back in October of this year, Ravenel expressed on Twitter that he favored Donald Trump over Joe Biden.

“The Presidential choice is clear,” he tweeted. “One candidate fighting his a** off to save the American dream while the other is hiding, sitting on a lead and letting the media cover up his corruption so that he can transform our country into the United Socialist Soviet States of America.”

Ravenel’s tweet didn’t go unnoticed and former co-star Shep Rose replied to him, opposing his political view.

“Good to see you using your degree from Trump University,” Rose replied. “You know, the American Dream he sold to people then had to settle for 25 mill for bilking a bunch of people. But at least he has his charity. Wait a sec, he stole from that as well and had to pay 2 mill. #Conman.”

Thomas Ravenel deletes Twitter

Social media received major flack during the election cycle as they facilitated misinformation to be spread with no consequences. Many conservative Twitter users felt that the social network was silencing voices that leaned toward the Republican party.

In Ravenel’s mind, it was clear that Twitter favors the Democratic Party and he made the choice to delete his verified profile. However, before quitting the digital platform, he tweeted out one last time what he was about to do.

“Because Twitter censored the NY Post story about Hunter Biden and that it’s clearly a political arm of the DNC, I’ll be deleting my account in protest within 1 hour,” Ravenel shared.

Users trying to access Ravenel’s Twitter profile are greeted with a “this account does not exist” message now.

Thomas Ravenel returned to ‘Southern Charm’ Season 7

After quitting Southern Charm and bashing the show, Ravenel made a cameo appearance during the season 7 premiere. The U.S. Senate hopeful was featured in a scene with Dennis, with whom he shares two kids.

“I just let them film a little segment with the kids as a favor to Kathryn,” Ravenel told Us Weekly. “I wasn’t paid. At the time, she was staying at my house in the guest room because her house was being painted and was unsafe for her and the kids.”

Thomas Ravenel Wouldn’t Go Back To ‘Southern Charm’ for a $1 Million

A backlash from fans ensued following his appearance as he had been accused of sexual assault in the past. Viewers didn’t think Bravo should continue to give Ravenel a platform. Former co-star Craig Conover didn’t feel like having Ravenel back on the show was not helping him at all.

“I mean, some people will say, like, we shouldn’t give them a platform or show it, [but] it’s not a positive for Thomas that he filmed at all,” Conover told Us Weekly. “So, anyone worried that we’re helping him by filming him, it’s not accurate. I mean, for him to go on Twitter all the time and blast the show and then film? It’s just incredible.”

Southern Charm airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
