‘Star Wars’: Behind-the-Scenes Photo Leaves Fans Envious of Hayden Christensen

Younger generations can’t imagine a world without Star Wars. The older generation saw it unfold and become the big deal it is now, but the young ones were born when Star Wars was already a groundbreaking phenomenon.

The Skywalker saga is now over, and nostalgia hits hard, especially when looking at the actors’ throwback photos. One behind-the-scenes photo of Hayden Christensen getting photobombed by George Lucas has fans envious of the actor.

Christensen played Anakin Skywalker in ‘Revenge of The Sith’

Anakin Skywalker and his mother were slaves from Tatooine. He was always helpful and was all too curious about Padme, who he didn’t know was the queen and Qui-Gon Jinn and his lifestyle. Through the prequel trilogy, viewers got to watch Anakin transition from a child to a carefree and rebellious teenager who didn’t budge on authority. He also grew to become a powerful young man who still had a long way to go.

However, Anakin has a lot of emotions which he is always told to push aside. He lacks the personality and desire to suppress his emotions and is already falling in love with Padme. Anakin has a hard time dealing with loss, hate, and fear and finds it easy to cling to the attachment.

When he realizes that he could potentially lose the love of his life and future children, Anakin clings on to the chance that he could keep them long enough. The one chance Anakin has to hold on to Padme lies in the Chancellor’s promise of the Sith.

When Revenge of The Sith premiered, there was a lot of debate about whether it lived up to its hype. Although there were mixed reviews at the time, the film has aged well among its fans. Revenge of The Sith typically shows how Anakin became Darth Vader and details the fall of the Jedi. It was also the last time audiences saw Christensen as Skywalker and Vader.

Kathleen Kennedy announced that they would be releasing the untitled Kenobi series detailing Obi-Wan’s eight years after what happened during the Revenge of The Sith. Obi-Wan would be staying on Tatooine to watch over Luke while trying to channel the power he needs to see Qui-Gon Jinn’s Force ghost. The series will also feature Obi-Wan trying to overcome his trauma about the Jedi purge in Revenge of The Sith.

After the announcement, fans began speculating about the possible return of Anakin. Various tabloids speculated about Disney and Lucasfilm considering the return of Anakin, and the official announcement was made on Dec 10, 2020.

Since the original trilogy and the prequels focus on Anakin’s story, it makes sense why bringing back Anakin would be perfect and might open a lot of possibilities. In The Rise of Skywalker, the showrunners gave fans a tease of Christensen’s return through voice-over form cameo. The teaser worked, and fans wanted Christensen to reprise his role as Vader and Anakin.

Anakin might return in the form of Obi-Wan’s hallucinations brought about by survivors’ remorse. It could also bring up a moment where Obi-Wan and Vader meet for the first time after the events on Mustafar.

Star Wars probably has the largest and most loyal fans on the planet. They frequently hold internet discussions about which film was the better one in the trilogies. However, a recent discussion on Reddit provided fans with a behind-the-scenes photo of Christensen in his Anakin Skywalker days, and fans are jealous.

In the 2002 photo, Star Wars creator George Lucas photobombs Christensen. The photo had fans wanting to trade places with the actor. One fan wrote, “dang imagine being in the same room as that man. Hayden must be so lucky,” to which another user replied, “I love this, George usually looks so stoic in photos.”
