Jason Carver convinces Hawkins they are amid Satanism in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

High school in the 80s is what many would expect. There were the popular kids and jocks who looked down on the “freaks” like Eddie Munson and the Hellfire Club. But the season falls heavily into the Satanic Panic of the 80s, where the outcasts were seen as the enemy. When Jason’s girlfriend Chrissy is murdered in Eddie’s trailer, he is adamant about seeking revenge.

There is no denying that the two characters inhabit opposite ends of the social ladder, leading to a rivalry. But for Jason, it is a chance to get rid of the supposed filth of the town. Throughout the first half of the fourth season, Jason works with his teammates to find Eddie and “talk” to him.

Jason has more damaging motives than talking. He and his teammates find Eddie at Eddie’s father’s boat house. But by this time, Vecna targets one of the players as his next victim. Jason witnessed firsthand the reality of the brutality in Hawkins.

But he uses it to his advantage. At the town hall meeting about the murders, Jason tells the townspeople that the Satanic Panic craze across America has infested Hawkins. He claims the murders are Satanic rituals, even the events from the prior three seasons. He blames the Hellfire Club and Eddie. His speech works as multiple people join him in the hunt.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Volume 2 teaser trailer has Lucas fighting Jason

A fan on Twitter posted a yet-to-be-released teaser trailer that debuted during the NBA finals. There are a lot of jaw-dropping nuggets for the second half of the season. But in a tiny scene for Stranger Things 4 Volume 2, fans see Jason and Lucas. The scene is short but raises a lot of questions.

In the scene, Lucas fights Jason in a dimly lit blue-hued attic. Fans see a close-up of Lucas and what seems to be a tear running down his face. Lucas then lands a left hook at Jason. In the first half of the season, fans saw Lucas battling with himself between looking “cool” for Jason and helping his friends.

It can be speculated after Jason’s speech to the townspeople that Lucas’s sister tells her brother they are hunting his friends, Eddie, and everyone else. The second half of the season could have Jason looking for them and possibly finding out their plans. The scene in the teaser trailer shows Lucas taking a stand to protect his friends, seeing as there is a more significant peril at play.

The Creel House is the nucleus of Stranger Things Season 4’s storyline. It is where Henry Creel developed and gained his immense powers and where he murdered his family. Fans also see the Creel house in the Upside Down, where Vecna dwells and regains his strength.

The teaser trailer scene for Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 with Lucas and Jason could take place in the Creel house, but likely the one in Hawkins. In the official photos for Volume 2, fans see the characters return to Hawkins to regain their forces. It could be that part of the plan to destroy Vecna requires them to return to the Creel house.

On the hunt to find Eddie and the main characters, Jason likely follows them there and is hellbent on his revenge for Chrissy and making himself the town’s hero.
