Showrunners for Stranger Things Season 4 have kept plot details close to their chest, but some new merchandise has fans speculating about the Creels. A new t-shirt revolving around the Creel family plotline in the show popped up recently, and there’s plenty to break down. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Creel House is one of the main storylines in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

Victor Creel, played by Robert Englund, serves as a significant new character in Stranger Things Season 4. A trailer released on Aug. 6, 2021, showed a new family moving into an old Victorian-style house in the 1940s.

There’s not much background information regarding why the Creels moved to Hawkins, but it’s not long before tragedy strikes. After moving in with his wife and two small children, Victor and his family noticed electrical issues in the house. Flickering lights are a tell-tale sign of the Demogorgon lurking around, but of course, the Creels know nothing about the monster or the Upside Down.

In Stranger Things Season 4, Victor Creel is eventually arrested and charged with murdering his entire family. However, a short clip of some microfiche images showed newspaper headlines that hinted at something else. Creel claimed a demon killed his family, and many believe the “demon” is actually the Demogorgon.

One of the new t-shirts features the Creel House

The new shirt includes several interesting images that caught fans’ eyes. In the top two corners of the picture are clocks striking the 3:00 hour. The clocks in Hawkins National Laboratory were also striking 3:00 in the teaser trailer released on May 6, 2021. Many fans think this is the time the Hawkins National Laboratory Massacre occurred.

A rose from a stained glass window is the focal point of the shirt, with the word “Creel” written across the top. What looks like octopus tentacles reach around the stained glass from both sides. Vines have always been a prominent feature of the Upside Down, but these definitely give off a tentacle vibe. From the teaser trailer released on Stranger Things Day, viewers caught a brief glimpse of Steve underwater.

Fans wonder whether or not the monster in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 could be aquatic

Aquatic monsters have yet to show up, but fans have learned to never say never regarding Stranger Things. Plus, many believe that a creature known as Vecna will terrorize the kids in Stranger Things Season 4. However, that’s not to say they couldn’t connect it to water in some form.

One Redditor wrote, “With the octopus-like tentacles and all the various water references and VSF [Video Store Fridays] movies with iconic water scenes, I’m thinking they are taking V’s character in a more aquatic direction.”

Another user speculated, “Perhaps he’s “buried” in the water. It would make sense considering that in season 2, it was discovered that all the activity from the UD was happening around water (Lovers Lake).”

Regardless, fans are stuck waiting on the Stranger Things Season 4 premiere until the summer of 2022. Most can agree that it can’t get here soon enough.
