Stranger Things Season 4 is still months away, much to the disappointment of several fans. However, the cast has been hard at work on a variety of other projects as well. This is good news for fans as it seems like no interviewers can resist sneaking in a question or two about the upcoming season. From everything we’ve learned so far, season 4 looks like it’s getting back to its roots in the vein of 80s inspired horror. However, Noah Schnapp now has us scratching our heads.

Noah Schnapp plays the role of Will Byers in ‘Stranger Things’

When audiences first met the character of Will Byers, we didn’t really get to know him. For most of Stranger Things Season 1, Will spent his time hiding from the Demogorgon in the Upside Down. In the very first episode, fans saw Will get snatched away by an unknown monster and saw very little of him until the season 1 finale.

Schnapp really got to flex his acting muscles in Stranger Things Season 2, however. The Mind Flayer, the supernatural villain of the season, possessed Will and Schnapp had to act out some pretty intense scenes. In season 3, the character of Will took more of a back seat to the love triangles between Max and Lucas and Mike and Eleven. Although, fans hope Will gets a more important role in Stranger Things Season 4.

More romance in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4?

Many fans believe Stranger Things Season 3 to be the weakest of the three seasons, and a lot of that has to do with all of the romance involved. In season 3, the kids are old enough to date, and a significant amount of time revolves around the lovers’ quarrels. While we already know that Stranger Things Season 4 leans harder into horror than previous seasons, Schnapp also hints at romance.

The 17-year-old, who just launched his own vegan snack spread called TBH, recently sat down with People to talk about his latest venture and the upcoming season. According to the publication, Schnapp “had a blast” filming the season, which he describes as “unexpected, romantic and exhilarating.”

In another interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Schnapp told us that he had a “less scary” storyline in Stranger Things Season 4, and it looks like he told People something similar.

“Every season we have different storylines and different people that I get to work with. I think this season, it was the most unexpected. [There were] certain people I’d never worked with before. It just really opened my eyes and I had such a good time doing it.”

Could Will Byers have a romantic interest in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4?

Will is the last character standing when it comes to romantic relationships in Stranger Things. Dustin has found love even if she’s halfway across the country. The show introduced audiences to a handful of new characters earlier this year, and several of them attend high school. At first, some fans thought a new character named Vicki could act as a love interest for Will, but it wasn’t long before fans quickly changed their theory.

The Stranger Things Twitter account described her as “a band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.” The only person who has ever mentioned band in the series is Robin Buckley. As of now, it’s still unclear what “romance” Schnapp is referring to, but it’s safe to say we can’t wait to find out.

Stranger Things Season 4 premieres in the summer of 2022.
