‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Will Be ‘Worth’ the Wait, Promises Maya Hawke

'Stranger Things' fans can't wait for the fourth season. It's been nearly two years since the show was last on, ending with the apparent death of Jim Hopper. It was delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, but actor Maya Hawke promises there are 'awesome' things in store for fans.

Fans of Stranger Things are eager for the next season. It’s been nearly two years since the show was on, ending with Jim Hopper sacrificing himself to close the gate to the Upside Down, leading Joyce Byers to take in the powerless Eleven and eventually move them to a new city. The show has faced delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but actor Maya Hawke promises Stranger Things Season 4 will be “worth” the wait.

Maya Hawke on ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

Hawke (Robin Buckley) opened up about the fourth season of Stranger Things in an interview with Collider. When asked when it’ll finish filming, she couldn’t say. But Hawke promised fans will love it.

“I’m not allowed to tell you when we finish filming, but I can tell you that, though it’s been forever, because we’ve had so much time, the level of effort, interest, and detail that the Duffer brothers have had the time to put into these scripts, and that the actors have had the time to think about their characters, it is gonna be awesome,” she said.

“And I’m so proud of the work that everyone is doing and I can’t wait for people to see this season. It’s been a long wait, but I think it will be worth it,” Hawke added.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 has been touted as the ‘darkest’ season yet

Hawke’s comments come weeks after actor Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) revealed that Stranger Things might not come back until sometime in 2022.

He also mentioned in an appearance on CBC Radio’s Q that the show will be much “darker” than past seasons.

“Every season it gets darker,” he began. “Really, I will say with Season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there’ll ever be, like the exploding rats and everything. But really, Season 4 so far, it’s the darkest season there’s ever been. Every year, it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder, and everything. Every year, they amp it up.”

“Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…,” the statement continued. “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American.”
