What do Brad Pitt, Katy Perry, Richard Madden, and Daniel Radcliffe, have in common? They all used the same strategy to deter paparazzi, wearing the same outfit over and over again. Keep reading to learn how being an outfit-repeater helped these celebrities keep paparazzi at bay.

Brad Pitt’s an outfit repeater

According to Vanity Fair, Brad Pitt made headlines recently for wearing the same outfit down to the layered t-shirts, sunglasses, and “brown woven satchel” per Page Six.

The 55-year-old actor was “spotted out on Monday wearing the exact same head-to-toe outfit he was spotted in the week before” but why should he “mess with success” if he knows what works for him?

The actor’s been seen wearing the ensemble having lunch in West Hollywood and on another occasion running errands — apparently, Pitt runs his own errands — and while he may be an outfit repeater because the outfit works for him, he may also reach for the same items again and again because paparazzi don’t want photographs of celebrities wearing the same outfits because they appear to be from the same date and time.

Pitt hasn’t said whether or not he wears the same outfit to deter paparazzi or because he simply enjoys the outfit. We’re guessing it’s a little bit of both.

Katy Perry wore an Adidas tracksuit

Pop star Katy Perry noted in a 2017 interview with The New York Times she wears an Adidas tracksuit when she leaves her house to make paparazzi photos less valuable. That’s why she’s been seen sporting the same comfy outfit on numerous occasions.

In the same interview, the “Fireworks” singer described being in the spotlight with public opinion constantly changing a “maddening game” adding “They want you to stand for something, but once you do, and if you don’t do it perfectly, they’re ready to take you right down.”

Daniel Radcliffe wore the same outfit to make photos ‘unpublishable’

The Harry Potter actor revealed in a 2007 interview with Jay Leno that he wore the same outfit “every single time” paparazzi came around him.

“I would wear the same outfit every single time with different T-shirts underneath, but I would wear the same jacket and zip it up so they couldn’t see what I was wearing underneath, and the same hat,” Radcliffe said.

“So they could take photos for six months but it would look like the same day,” he added. They became unpublishable, which was hilarious because there’s nothing better than seeing the paparazzi get really frustrated.”

Richard Madden on repeating outfits: ‘They can’t run the pictures’

Game of Thrones actor and star of Bodyguard, Richard Madden, explained using the same strategy to The New York Times in an interview last month. He referenced a recent time when he was photographed with Brandon Flynn, the 25-year-old actor of 13 Reasons Why.

“I wear the same clothes days in a row because if it looks like the same day, they can’t run the pictures,” Madden said. “There’s only so many photos you can have of me with a green juice walking down the street,” he added.

While repeating outfits or re-wearing a certain item of clothing is almost frowned upon in Hollywood, some celebrities employ the strategy to have some semblance of privacy.
