Supernatural wins the award for longest-running sci-fi series in the United States with fifteen total seasons. That long of a run opens up plenty of opportunities for guest appearances from actors who end up as stars later. Here are eight actors you forgot guest-starred on Supernatural.

'Supernatural' starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, seen here with Mischa Collins, had plenty of guest stars over the years.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was Papa Winchester throughout ‘Supernatural’

Ok, fine. We’ll give it to you that you most likely didn’t forget Jeffrey Dean Morgan appeared on Supernatural. However, before he was known as the ruthless, baseball bat-wielding Negan on The Walking Dead, he was killing supernatural spirits with his sons, Sam and Dean.

‘Supernatural’ Season 6 featured guest star Robert Englund

At this point, Robert Englund’s name is synonymous with horror. That’s why it’s no surprise that Freddy Krueger himself popped up in an episode of Supernatural Season 6 as a family friend of the Winchesters.

Paris Hilton poked fun at herself as a ‘Supernatural’ guest star in one episode

Hilton pops up as a goddess possessing a wax statue in Supernatural Season 5, but it’s likely a callback to Hilton and Jared Padalecki’s remake of House of Wax. It was a nice little tongue-in-cheek episode for the series though.

Colin Ford plays a young Sam Winchester in ‘Supernatural’ Season 4

Before he was living it up in a post-apocalyptic world run by teenagers in Netflix’s Daybreak, Ford nabbed the role of the younger version of Padalecki’s character, Sam. Fans might also recognize him from his time in the TV series based on the Stephen King novel, Under the Dome.

Mitch Pileggi guest starred as the grandfather of Sam and Dean

If you grew up in the ‘90s, you likely remember Mitch Pileggi as the gruff assistant director of the FBI in The X-Files. It looks like he traded in one role dealing with the supernatural for another when he showed up in Supernatural as Sam and Dean’s maternal grandfather. We always knew he knew the truth was out there…

Another ‘Walking Dead’ alum to appear in ‘Supernatural’ was Lauren Cohan

We all teared up when Lauren Cohan’s character watched her love, Glenn, die a grisly death at the hands of Negan. However, before she watched all that go down, she appeared as Bela Talbot in Supernatural. She mainly caused a lot of problems for the Winchester brothers, but they prevailed.

Gary Cole nailed another performance as the sleazy sales guy

Cole’s portrayal of everyone’s least favorite boss in Office Space gave fans some of the most quotable lines in movie history. We like to think he channeled that character when he played a sleazy Hollywood producer in an episode of Supernatural.

Horror royalty Linda Blair was a ‘Supernatural’ guest star in Season 2

Linda Blair cut her acting teeth on the role of Regan in The Exorcist. The film easily goes down in history as one of the scariest moves to hit theaters in the ‘70s. In season 2, she plays a detective who arrests Sam and Dean. It might only be one episode. However, nobody can discount the fact that producers managed to snag Blair herself for the role.

Supernatural ended its historical run in November 2020. Don’t worry, though. All 15 seasons are currently available on Netflix.
