Parvati Shallow on ‘Survivor 40: Winners at War’

For the first time in a decade, Micronesia champ Parvati Shallow returned to Survivor to compete against 19 other former champs for a $2 million grand prize in Winners at War.

Initially placed on the Sele tribe, she almost immediately aligned with Boston Rob Mariano. Then, they brought in Africa winner Ethan Zohn and began an “old school” alliance. After the latter’s blindside, Parvati and Rob were in trouble, but a rare immunity challenge win saved them.

In the next episode, they swapped tribes, separating the allies. The Micronesia champ alongside former tribemate Michele Fitzgerald stayed at Sele and former Dakal members Yul Kwon, Nick Wilson, and Wendell Holland joined them.

The tribe won the first immunity challenge, but lost the following one, and earned a date with Jeff Probst at Tribal Council. Unfortunately, Parvati couldn’t get Nick or Yul to turn against Wendell, and she was sent to the Edge of Extinction.

A couple of years after the boxer won Micronesia, she co-founded Knockout For Girls, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships and boxing lessons for disadvantaged females.

She also completed a few local triathlons in the California area and appeared in the action film, Into the Blue 2. Additionally, Parvati hosted the web series Around the World For Free Season 3, where she visited 12 countries in 100 days without any money.

Currently, Parvati is a yoga teacher, certified in Hatha and Kundalini Yoga, a life coach, and speaker. According to her website, the Micronesia winner helps individuals “build solid foundations of self-reliance so that they become the authority in their lives.”

Through her work, she has helped people successfully begin new careers, write books, recuperate from health problems, leave toxic relationships, and more.

Parvati Shallow released a children’s book

The now 37-year-old and new mother of a year-old son published a children’s book alongside Beth Cooper, Rachel Robinson, and Paula Van Loan, titled, “Om the Otter.”

The book is about “friendship, compassion, and how to be present for someone experiencing difficult feelings” to help children “develop their whole sense of self.” The main character, an otter, named Om, takes the readers on a journey that “teaches the power of mindfulness” to kids.

Additionally, the book helps children practice their articulation “in a fun and engaging” way. According to the website, “Om the Otter” officially releases in the summer of 2020.

After her elimination on Survivor 40: Winners at War, Parvati posted a picture with her adorable son and the new book to Instagram, encouraging other parents to “pick it up” if they’re “stressing about homeschooling.”

In the comments section, she promised fellow competitor Kim Spradlin-Wolfe that she would send her books for her three kids. Winners at War airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
