What did Tony Vlachos do on ‘Survivor: Winners at War’ Episode 11 that upset Sarah Lacina?

Last week, Tony decided to blindside Sophie Clarke. He knew his alliance was planning to split their votes — two for Michele Fitzgerald and three for Jeremy Collins. The 46-year-old police officer felt that Sophie was getting in too tight with his friend, Sarah.

Rather than clue in Sarah and risk her telling Sophie, he went behind Sarah’s back. Tony thought this was the perfect time to vote out Sophie. He waited until very late in the evening — right before tribal council — to ask Jeremy to flip sides. Tony also asked Jeremy to talk Michele into the flip because their names were both on the chopping block that evening.

At tribal council, Tony played it cool and did not reveal any inkling of switching sides. When the votes are read, both Sarah and Sophie were shocked. Sophie went to the Edge of Extinction with a hidden immunity idol in her pocket.

From this week’s previews, fans believe Tony and Sarah’s friendship is on the rocks

“It was a grimy-*ss move,” Sarah says in the previews for Survivor: Winners at War Episode 12. “To have Tony come up with this all alone, I’m absolutely infuriated with him.”

Tony and Sarah walk away from camp to whisper, but the other players can still hear Sarah yelling.

“If I get voted out, do not talk to me ever again,” Sarah tells Tony.

Fans are very concerned about Sarah expressing that she might never talk to Tony again. The pair provides hilarious antics together, and fans do not want to see their friendship dissolve.

“I think she’s extra pissed here because they’ve been friends since their first season years ago,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Most of the other pre-existing friendships are among the old schoolers that went out close together.”

Fans compared the current situation to when they played together in Survivor: Cagayan. In that long-ago season, Tony added in the votes that took Sarah out, but fans pointed out that they were already on separate alliances at that time. In Survivor: Winners at War, the two currently have a solid “Cops R Us” alliance.

Are Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos still friends after ‘Survivor: Winners at War’?

“I feel like it’s a heat of the moment thing, though,” added another fan. “She knows blindsides happen and she’ll get over it.

Fans are in disagreement over whether or not Sarah gets over Tony’s massive move without her. However, some fans have proof things are OK after the game.

“They are literally posting together on Twitter and selling t-shirts,” noted one fan. “We’ll see what happens, but whatever happens, they obviously are still friends.”

A quick check on Twitter reveals that Sarah often retweets Tony’s posts. They are both promoting the same t-shirt line, which is to support previous castaway Jonathan Penner’s wife, Stacy, in her fight against ALS.

With a little deductive work on social media, it does appear that Tony and Sarah are still friends. Find out what happens this week on Survivor: Winners at War at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
