Shooter in Andre Montgomery’s murder pleads guilty further implicating Tim Norman

Tim reportedly served as the mastermind behind his nephew’s murder. NBC St. Louis reports that Travell Hill, 30, was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, as well as another count of murder-for-hire in Andre’s killing. He claims he was hired by Tim. How they initially made contact however is unclear.

Tim reportedly paid Hill $5,000 to carry out the brutal murder. Hill says that on the day of the murder, he met Tim near the Clinton-Peabody Housing Complex south of downtown St. Louis for a “discussion” and that “it was Hill’s understanding that Norman wanted Hill to kill Montgomery.”

Investigators say that Terica Ellis, an exotic dancer from Memphis who was in a relationship with Tim, was paid $10,000 to lure Andre to the location. Cell phone records and cell tower records from burner phones Tim reportedly purchased to stay in communication with both parties were used as evidence. Hill also reportedly spoke about his involvement during jailhouse calls that were recorded.

Now, Hill will more than likely serve life in prison as part of his plea. Ellis and Tim also face life in prison. They’ve both pleaded not guilty. Tim initially faced the death penalty, but prosecutors opted not to pursue it further.

Tim Norman allegedly tried cashing in on a life insurance policy for Andre Montgomery

There are several theories floating around regarding why Tim would want Andre dead. According to the prosecution, Tim took out several life insurance policies on Andre totaling over $400,000. The policies list Tim as the sole beneficiary.

He allegedly tried cashing in on the policies within days of Andre’s murder but was denied the funds due to not being able to provide corroborating documentation for the policies. The life insurance agent responsible for helping Tim set up the policies is also charged with wire fraud conspiracy.

Additionally, investigators say Tim believed Andre was involved in a robbery at his mother Miss Robbie’s home. Miss Robbie is Andre’s grandmother. When police questioned Andre, he told detectives that he felt Tim was responsible.

Miss Robbie stands by her son

As fans of the show continue to try and wrap their minds around Tim’s charges, Miss Robbie is standing by her son. She told Black Enterprise in a 2021 interview:

I’m believing this is going to turn out right. I’m praying. The whole world is praying for my family. We’re just getting up every day, going day by day. It’s not a good position to be in but God put this on me and I’m handling it and I know He’s not going to let me down. So my family is dealing with all of these issues. We’re just waiting and praying for a miracle. After all, everyone has to realize he hasn’t been found guilty. That’s what he’s accused of so we don’t know what happened. That’s my son. I mean it’s like a marriage – ‘til death do us part. I can’t give him back. When kids get in trouble, they’re still your kids. No matter what happens, I’m still his mom and he’s got support and I’m praying my child gets out of this because like I say he hasn’t been found guilty but the world beat him up.

Miss Robbie has not spoken recently in light of Hill’s guilty plea. She recently released a music single.
