Just last week Sydney Sweeney made headlines when news of her engagement broke. TMZ managed to snag a photo of the Euphoria actor rocking a giant diamond ring on her left finger. And while Sweeney has remained tight-lipped about her impending nuptials, PEOPLE confirmed that she is, in fact, engaged to her fiancé, Jonathan Davino.

Sydney Sweeney is very tight-lipped about her relationship with fiancé, Jonathan Davino

Sweeney has taken great care to keep her relationship out of the spotlight. However, due to pictures, it’s clear that The White Lotus alum has been linked to her fiancé since 2018. The pair have been photographed showing PDA in Hawaii, Italy, and Los Angeles. However, neither one of them has made statements about their relationship. In fact, Sweeney has shut down questions about her boyfriend in the past.

In an interview with Palm Springs Life, Sweeney was explicitly asked about Davino. “That’s my private life,” the Sharp Objects alum shared. But despite being close-mouthed about her fiancé, Sweeney occasionally lets a few little details about her relationship slip out. For example, she has mentioned that she could see herself calling Chicago (Davino’s hometown) home at some point in the future.

The MMA fighter reveals the nickname her boyfriend has for her

“I have a place there,” Sweeney shared about The Windy City in an interview with Elite Daily. “It’s like my getaway place.” The Players Table producer also quietly revealed the special nickname that her fiancé has for her. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Sweeney was asked what nickname her significant other had for her. She responded “Munchkin”, while also embellishing the cutesy nickname with a heart.

Why the ‘Euphoria’ star is not interested in dating a celebrity

In the aforementioned interview with Cosmo, the actor revealed that she’ll likely never be super open about her romantic endeavors. Furthermore, she implied that she liked that her fiancé wasn’t a celebrity also. This, the actor shared, is what gives their relationship a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of her rising fame.

“I don’t date people in the spotlight,” Sweeney explained. “I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest. I have a great support system. I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back.’”

Sweeney hired Davino to help produce her HBO TV show, ‘The Players Table’

Sweeney’s fiancé may not be a celebrity, but he seems to be dipping a toe into the entertainment industry. An IMDb profile for Davino lists him as a producer on The Players Table. The series, which will premiere on HBO, is the first project of Sweeney’s production company, Fifty-Fifty Films. In addition to producing the show, Sweeney will also be playing the lead role. For Sweeney’s sake, we hope she and Davino are able to mix business and pleasure successfully.
