Taylor Swift’s New Album: Fans are Freaking out Over the Singer’s Instagram Posts
There are few fandoms as passionate as the Taylor Swift fandom. Swift has started posting regularly on Instagram and to say Swifties are excited would be the understatement of the year. They’re convinced this sudden burst of activity is to signal the coming of a new album–something Swift fans have been anxiously awaiting since the fizzling out of the Reputation era.
That’s what happens when you create music the people crave. Swifties have been suffering from withdrawals between albums since Swift began performing.
Her fans can even be a little demanding.

But then the singer started posting to Instagram a few days ago and fans are freaking out.
She first posted an innocent picture of one of her cats. It felt harmless enough–Swift posts photos of her cats all the time. This particular post didn’t set off any alarms. The photo had the caption: “A
She then posted a picture of seven palm trees with an uncharacteristically cutesy edit. Swift has the comments turned off on her Instagram so you have to go to Twitter to get any good Swift album speculation. Over there, the site was lighting up with talk of “the seven palm trees.”

Following the infamous palm trees post came a picture of Swift sitting on a staircase. Which stair was she sitting on? But the sixth of course! At this point, the Swift fandom was convinced the singer was doing a countdown.
The next day, she posted what appeared to be a candid photo of the singer looking through a fence. There are five visible holes in the fence.
Cue: chaos
“Therapist: how are you?
Me: fine. well except.
As soon as Swift’s loyal fans realized the posts were a countdown, everyone lost their cool.
Yes, there were even some haters.
But we’ll see who’s right in the end.

Then today, she posted a photo of her cat, Olivia, looking absolutely shocked while standing on her hind legs.
“She just read all the theories,” read the caption. Is Swift just toying with her fans or will there really be a new album at the end of this countdown? Thankfully, we’ll only have to wait a few more days to find out.
