Jenelle Evans is nothing if not unpredictable. The former Teen Mom 2 star shocked fans when she announced her separation from David Eason in October 2019. Several months later, she appeared to be thriving under the safety net of a restraining order. Now, however, everything is changing once again. The mother of three inexplicably requested that the order of protection against Eason be lifted, and the judge presiding over the case agreed. Fans are now left wondering why Evans would make such a strange decision. Some followers even think she’s planning to return to Eason.

Why did Jenelle Evans request the restraining order be dismissed

Evans and Eason were set to face off in court on Jan. 14, to further discuss the order of protection. According to paperwork obtained by Radar Online, Evans requested to have the order of protection dismissed on Jan. 10. The court date was canceled in light of Evans’ decision. Evans had previously sought to have the order extended twice before her request for dismissal, according to court records.

Jan. 10 was the Friday before their set court date and just one day after news broke that Eason was a wanted man. Eason was due in a Wilmington, North Carolina courthouse for illegally towing a truck, but he never appeared. A warrant was issued for his arrest. It is not known if Eason cleared up his legal issues in North Carolina, but the timing of both events is undoubtedly interesting to Teen Mom 2 fans.

Are David and Jenelle getting back together?

Evans’ decision to dismiss her petition for a restraining order seems pretty odd. In the initial documents, Evans alleged Eason acted violently towards her or her children at least 11 times. During one reported event, Evans claims that Eason locked her son, Kaiser Griffin, in a running vehicle. The incident reportedly distressed the child greatly.

The decision to dismiss the order could mean several things, but most fans believe it implies that Evans is backtracking on her decision to divorce Eason. By rejecting the order of protection, Eason can now contact Evans if he wants. It also opens up the possibility of Eason seeking shared custody of the couple’s only child together if the divorce proceedings continue. Neither Evans nor Eason have commented on the decision, but it’s unlikely they will both stay quiet for long. For now, their divorce is still pending, according to Radar Online, but that could change at any moment, too.

What is going on with Jenelle’s rumored new boyfriend?

Making things a bit more complicated is the fact that Evans has been linked to a new man. Followers of the reality TV star spied Evans in the Instagram Story of Herbert Wilkinson, a 31-year-old man from Braintree, Massachusetts, in December 2019. In the video, Evans is seen walking back towards a table at a bar or restaurant. Wilkinson calls Evans “babe” in the exchange. Evans also liked every single one of Wilkinson’s Instagram posts, leading fans to believe the pair were an item.

Evans’ relationship status remains unknown, though. She has refused to comment on her connection to Wilkinson and has vehemently denied romance rumors ever since she left North Carolina. She had been previously tied to a Nashville-area guitarist whom she visited before separating from Eason. The stories of a romantic connection turned out to be false. The Instagram profile originally linked to Wilkinson appears to have been deleted.
