Chelsea Houska leaves ‘Teen Mom 2’

Fans have been watching Houska on TV since 2009, when she first appeared on 16 and Pregnant. She went on to be a part of Teen Mom 2. Fans have seen Houska go through breakups, fall in love, and have four children. Viewers even saw her get married to her current husband, Cole DeBoer, in 2016. But now, Houska is done sharing her life with the franchise.

“MTV’s Teen Mom 2 has been a big part of my life for almost 11 years. After much thought and discussion with my family and friends, Cole and I have decided that this season will be our last,” she captioned a photo on Instagram. “We are forever thankful to MTV and our crew, who are like family to us. We’re parting on the best of terms and will stay in touch long after this. We’re proud to have been able to share our story and are so grateful to the fans who have followed our journey from the beginning.

“Our next chapter in life will focus on developing our brand and taking things to the next level with new endeavors and expanding family businesses,” she wrote. “Please tune into our last moments on the show and continue to follow along our journey on social media. We are so excited for this next phase of our lives and hope you all will be a part of it in some way!”

Why did Chelsea Houska really leave ‘Teen Mom 2’?

As Teen Mom 2 returned for the first time without Houska, the former reality TV star revealed the real reason she didn’t return to the show. It had to do with her oldest daughter, Aubree Lind.

“There just came a point—and I think it was a buildup almost—this feeling in my gut, or my heart, I guess. It just didn’t feel like I was supposed to be on that show anymore,” Houska told E! News. “There were conversations that [my daughter] Aubree and I were having from time to time, and there came a point where I was just worried because I don’t want her to ever be like, she can’t tell me things because it’s going to be aired to millions of people or whatever.”

When Houska first started filming, Aubree was a newborn, but now, she is a person with her own perspective.

“When she was little, the stuff that was going on with her dad and stuff, it was from my point of view, and as she got older, it started coming from her point of view,” Houska continued. “I think that deserves to be private for her. That was ultimately what kind of pushed me to decide to step away and leave that chapter of life.”
