‘Teen Mom 2’: Chris Lopez Posts About Letting Someone ‘Toxic’ Go Amid Drama With Kailyn Lowry
Lowry recently gave birth to her second child with Lopez, Creed. And things have, unfortunately, not improved between the pair since.
Kailyn Lowry wasn’t going to invite Chris Lopez to Creed’s birth but ultimately changed her mind
When Lowry began planning for Creed’s brith, Lopez wasn’t in the picture. Just as he was absent when she was pregnant with their first son, Lux, Lowry felt he wasn’t helpful during her pregnancy with Creed. So she wasn’t going to invite him to their second son’s birth.
“Why would I make the call to someone who has not been helpful, consistent, empathetic or compassionate for the entire 9 months? Says he doesn’t care but thinks he should be included in the birth? Make it make sense,” Lowry wrote in an Instagram story.
But when the day came, Lowry gave Lopez a call. She even ended up giving Creed his father’s last name.
“I know that there have been periods of time where I felt like he doesn’t deserve to have his last name passed down… I get so angry and I say a lot of things – that are true. Don’t get me wrong, they’re true. But then I still turn around and try to make other people happy and try not to argue,” she said on her podcast, Coffee Convos, on Aug. 13.
At the time, Lowry was hoping the olive branch would prompt Lopez to “step up.”
“Nothing I do is going to change someone else’s behavior. However, I feel like this is another attempt of me giving him a chance to not argue about the last name… [To] try to be there,” she said.
Kailyn Lowry and Chris Lopez after Creed’s birth
Despite the olive branch, Lowry says Lopez has hardly seen Creed since he was born.
“We don’t communicate at all,” Lowry told Domenick Nati on Aug. 31. “I don’t remember the last time I heard from him. He hasn’t seen Creed since he was born, maybe a couple days after. He saw him when he was born then shortly thereafter, and he hasn’t seen him since.”
Additionally, the duo seems to be subtweeting each other on social media. Lowry posted an image to her Instagram stories that read: “Someone who repeatedly goes silent when you’re not with them, is training you to accept a pattern of silence.”
On TikTok, she shared a clip that said: “Have you ever been in a relationship so toxic you ask your therapist if you have borderline personality disorder? Just me? K.”
Chris Lopez posts about ‘endings’
Lowry isn’t the only one taking to social media to share her feelings about the relationship. Lopez posted a paragraph to his stories about moving on.
“If your heart hurts a little after letting go of someone or something, that’s OK,” read the quote, as reported by In Touch. “It just means that your feelings were genuine. No one likes endings. But sometimes we have to put things that were once good to an end after they turn toxic to our wellbeing. Not every new beginning is meant to last forever. And not every person who walks into your life is meant to stay.”
