Briana DeJesus claims her fianceé had a jealousy issue in ‘Teen Mom 2’ episode

When Season 11 of Teen Mom 2 first kicked off, Briana DeJesus revealed her new engagement with her then-boyfriend, Javi Gonzalez.

She also discussed co-star Kailyn Lowry suing her for defamation and announced her plans to meet up with the reality star’s ex, Chris Lopez, who also fathered her two youngest kids, to record a podcast.

When telling her family of her plans, Briana admitted she felt Javi had a jealousy issue. Therefore, she chose to take her best friend, Shirley, noting she felt more “comfortable” with her friend than her boyfriend.

Throughout her time in Philadelphia, where she met Chris for the podcast, Briana frequently texted Javi. She grew annoyed with his “insecurities,” wanting him to have more confidence in himself. In a preview for the upcoming episode, Briana revealed her recording the podcast with Chris presented too big of an “issue” and isn’t sure if she’ll talk to her fianceé again.

Briana began dating Javi Gonzalez in Oct. 2020; they were engaged eight months later

Around Oct. 2020, Briana, who parents two children, began dating Javi, who shares the name of her ex and Kailyn’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin.

After she revealed her new romance in May 2021, eight months after they made it official, the reality star told E! News they were taking their relationship “very slow.” She explained he’s “not very comfortable” around the cameras and admitted he doesn’t understand “the whole TV life.”

Therefore, she tries to keep her love life separate, although it’s a “struggle” due to her feeling like she’s “living a triple life.” Even so, the Florida native noted she “hopes he’s the one,” adding, “I’ve never met a man this sincere and genuine and that respects me so much.”

Three weeks after going public with her relationship, the couple got engaged. He briefly appeared in season 10 and hasn’t made an appearance for season 11 yet. Briana already revealed their breakup in Aug. 2021 while answering questions on her Instagram, admitting she has no immediate plans to get married “any time soon.” Another fan asked if she’s currently single, and the Teen Mom 2 reality star answered, “yes.”

Some fans think Briana and Chris flirted before recording the podcast

Shortly after receiving the lawsuit papers from Kailyn and having to hire a lawyer, Briana told her sister Brittany that she planned to record an episode for Chris’s podcast.

She denied having bad intentions and thought Kailyn shouldn’t mind since her co-star previously had her ex, Devoin Austin, as a guest on her podcast. Additionally, she insisted nothing romantic was going on between Chris, pointing out why they planned to meet at a neutral location in Philadelphia.

When she arrived, Briana briefly talked about the pending lawsuit, naming that as to why she didn’t want to discuss the reality star. Chris claimed he didn’t know about the suit and talked about his co-parenting situation with Kailyn, which he doesn’t like.

Before recording, they hung out in a rage room where many viewers believed the two flirted. Kailyn is suing Briana for “untrue” statements she made on social media about an alleged domestic violence incident between herself and Chris. Teen Mom 2 airs Tuesdays on MTV.
