Why ‘Teen Mom’ Farrah Abraham’s Mom Didn’t Contact Her After She Was Arrested
Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham was reportedly arrested back in 2018 after allegedly hitting a security guard. Here’s what her mother, Debra Danielsen, had to say about why she didn’t reach out to her daughter after the arrest.
How Debra Danielsen reacted after finding out Farrah Abraham was arrested
During a 2018 interview with Face the Truth, Vivica Fox asked Danielsen how she felt after hearing her daughter had been arrested. Danielsen said she wasn’t pleased with the news. “It was horrifying. I was hysterical because first of all, I worry for my daughter’s safety, and then I worry for my granddaughter’s safety,” said Danielsen.
Why Farrah Abraham’s mom didn’t reach out after she was arrested
Danielsen said she found out Abraham had been arrested after hearing about it from the media. This caused her to become concerned about Sophia’s health and safety. “I’ve been very concerned for the health and safety of Sophia because of Farrah’s behavior. TMZ calls me up, ‘Hey Debra, Farrah is arrested.’ Then there’s all this information out there about Farrah taking drugs. And there’s all this pornography. That’s not good for Sophia to be around. It’s very hard for me to stand by and watch my grandchild being exploited. I don’t like that,” Danielsen told Face the Truth. Danielsen told the hosts she didn’t reach out after her daughter was arrested because she had a strained relationship with Abraham. “It does me no good to call,” said Danielsen.
Danielsen said at the time she hadn’t spoken to Abraham in a year and that she wasn’t allowed to see her granddaughter, Sophia. “My relationship with my daughter, Farrah, has taken a turn for the worst. Her fuse gets very short. On the phone she screams, she yells, she’s called me evil, overbearing, judgmental. It has just spun out of control,” she said.
Why didn’t Farrah Abraham try to mend her relationship with her mom?
One of the hosts asked Abraham if she was afraid that she would have a relationship with Sophia that’s similar to the tumultuous relationship she has with her mother. Abraham said she wasn’t afraid of that at all. “No, I’m strong enough, connected enough, and caring enough as a parent, with my daughter that that doesn’t happen in our relationship,” said Abraham. After giving this response, another Face the Truth host asked Abraham why she didn’t work harder to improve her relationship with her mother. “My daughter doesn’t act the same why my mother does with me, so that’s why we can grow and build,” responded Abraham.
Farrah Abraham didn’t have much luck with the hosts of Face the Truth
Abraham’s interaction with the Face the Truth hosts didn’t seem to go so well. Host Rosie Mercado said she felt Abraham was being unnecessarily defensive. “You know what I find really interesting is that you never met us. And as soon as you got on stage, there is this rejection, there is this wall with talking to us. We haven’t done anything. We’re asking the questions. We’re here to provide solutions. And there’s automatically this wall, this rejection. And there’s automatically this lack of humility, and just very standoffish,” said Mercado.
