But Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn’t his only gig these days. Crews recently became the host of America’s Got Talent, as well as its spinoff, America’s Got Talent: The Champions. He has also taken on a few notable film roles over the past few years, including parts in Deadpool 2 and Sorry to Bother You.
He had a very different career before becoming an actor
Given his build, it may not surprise you to learn that Crews is an athlete. In fact, before making the transition to acting, he was a defensive end and linebacker in the NFL. Crews played for the Los Angeles Rams, the Green Bay Packers, the San Diego Chargers, the Washington Redskins, and the Philadelphia Eagles in the ‘90s.
Crews began acting in the early ‘00s. He appeared in films such as White Chicks, The Longest Yard, and Idiocracy. Prior to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he had starring roles in series Everybody Hates Chris and Are We There Yet?
This is how Crews met his wife
Terry Crews and his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in July 2019. Crews doesn’t share many intimate details of his personal life, but from the above Instagram caption, we can determine that they met while living in Michigan, Crews’ home state and where he attended college. It also sounds as though they met in church.
In his own anniversary post on Instagram, Crews shared that he was just 20-years-old when they got married. He added, “I knew I had found the one…I’m glad I was right.” Clearly, this is a couple that’s going the distance.
How many kids do they have?
Crews and King-Crews are, in the actor’s own words, “building a dynasty.” They have five children together, along with a grandchild. Again, Crews doesn’t often share too much information about his personal life, but thanks to social media, we can learn a little bit about his family.
The Crews family appeared on Celebrity Family Feud. Their group consisted of Crews, King-Crews, her mother, Anna Mae Parks, and two of their daughters: Azriél and Tera. From Instagram, we can see that the former is an actress, singer, and makeup artist who attended the NBC Upfronts with Crews this year. The latter is also in the entertainment industry and is 20 years-old.
