Chance the Rapper tweeted about Wendy’s spicy nuggets in May 2019
Like a lot of people, Chance the Rapper was thinking about Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Nuggets, an option on their four for $4 menu before the fast-food chain discontinued it. In May 2019, the musician tweeted his positive affirmation of the day.
“Positive Affirmations for today: I will have a good day, I will succeed today, Wendy’s will bring back spicy nuggets at some point please please Lord let it be today,” tweeted Chance the Rapper.
Surprisingly Wendys’ Twitter account responded, with a deal for fans of the nuggets, tweeting, “Y’all keep asking, so here’s your chance. The people in charge say if you guys can get our tweet, (this one right here,) to two million likes, they will bring spicy chicken nuggets back. Let’s freakin’ do this!”
Within a few days, Chance’s tweet earned the necessary amount of likes and retweets, officially bringing back the spicy nuggets. Wendy’s Twitter account responded to the news, saying, “this is not a drill! Spicy Chicken Nuggets are coming back! Y’all are crazy! That took like a day and a half! What? We don’t know when yet, gotta figure it out, but soon, and okay, losing it right now, this is amazing!”
Although Wendy’s did not release an official date for the spicy nuggets, late, on their Instagram, they shared more news. The company said their bites of chicken would be available on August 12, 2019.
This August, Wendy’s spicy nuggets finally came back
A few months passed since Chance the Rapper and Wendy’s had their Twitter interaction, but the fast-food company kept their promise. On August 12, 2019, spicy nuggets came back into Wendy’s locations across the country.
“If you don’t eat your body weight in Wendy’s spicy nuggets today then you need to grow up,” one Twitter user said.
“Today spicy nuggets are back at Wendy’s and Chick-Fil-A started serving mac-and-cheese? I declare today a national holiday,” another Twitter user said.
The nuggets release date comes only a few weeks after Chance the Rapper premiered his newest album, The Big Day. The album is already earning millions of plays on Spotify, songs like “Hot Shower” having over 15 million streams. The artist has not yet responded about Wendy’s nugget news.
