Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner might be some of the most popular celebrity models in today’s day and age, but it was not always this way.

Going back to the 1980’s and 1990’s there was a well-known group of professional models that would later down the line be known as “the original supermodels”. Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Cindy Crawford were a few of the professionals that have been grouped into this elite category. Stephanie Seymour was another model associated with this era.

Take a look back at Seymour’s career, personal life, and the hot mess that followed.

Stephanie Seymour’s modeling career

According to IMDb, Seymour was born in San Diego in 1968. From a young age Seymour began pursuing modeling. When she was still a teenager a local modeling contest led her to landing a gig in New York for Elite.

Seymour began dating John Casablancas, an extremely well-known and successful modeling agent. Casablancas even left his wife to further his relationship with Seymour as her modeling career continued to take off.

Seymour began appearing in Sports Illustrated and started working with Victoria’s Secrets. A spread for Playboy Magazine in 1991 seemed to put the supermodel on the map. Famous photographers like Patrick Demarchelier and Mario Testino couldn’t seem to get enough of the model.

Olga Liriano, a creative consultant who used to book Seymour’s jobs, shared with The Post that the supermodel was “ambitious, disciplined and professional. She had no problems taking off her clothes and doing what had to be done.” However, Seymour’s personal life often got in the way of her career and success.

Stephanie Seymour’s personal life

As previously mentioned, Seymour spent some of her younger years pursuing Casablancas, and, as Page Six has shared, unfortunately, it would be the first of many of Seymour’s failed relationships.

In the past Seymour has dated Charlie Sheen and Warren Beatty. The supermodel briefly married Tommy Andrews, a famous guitarist, and the couple had a son together. Seymour’s attraction to musicians continued with Axl Rose, the notorious singer from Guns N’ Roses. After things fizzled out with Rose, Seymour met Peter Brant.

At the time Brant was in the middle of some legal trouble and still married, but Seymour didn’t let that stop her from falling for the magazine publicist who had a renowned reputation for collecting art.

Seymour and Brant welcomed Peter Brant Jr. into the world in 1993 and the couple wed in 1995. Seymour and her husband went on to have two more children, Harry and Lily. Brant even adopted Seymour’s son Dylan from her relationship with Rose. It seemed like the real deal, and Seymour made sure of it. However, underneath the service, all was far from well.

In 2009 Seymour admitted to The Post that she struggled with illegal drug use, and, unfortunately, with time, the issue only seemed to persist. One fateful night in 2016 Seymour was at the center of two separate DUI events.

NBC reported that on the eve of January 15th the celebrity had driven her Land Rover SUV into a utility pole. Seymour fled from the scene after making impact. Sadly, her drunk driving didn’t end there. Just about one hour later the supermodel backed her vehicle into a Mercedes while on Interstate 95. Seymour was booked on DUI charges for the fender-bender and was re-arrested the following Monday for her crash into the utility pole.

Sadly, as many already know, addiction is a hereditary disease. Seymour’s children also have struggled with addiction and drug usage, and Seymour’s son, Harry Brant, just recently died of an overdose. Hopefully his tragic death will encourage Seymour and others to seek help if ever need to be.
