Bachelor Nation is buzzing about who the next star of The Bachelor could be. With so many fan-favorites from Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, it’s hard to choose. One fan-favorite, Michael A., recently addressed the rumors regarding his potential to become the next bachelor outright. Here’s what we know.

Creator Mike Fleiss hints about the next bachelor

Bachelor Nation mastermind Mike Fleiss loves dropping hints about the franchise on Twitter. “All I can tell you right now is that #BachelorNation will be very happy!” he wrote on Aug. 17. “Well, maybe not everybody… #TheBachelor.”

After Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, fans had a lot to say about who they wanted to see as the next leading man. Fans have several potential candidates in mind from Greg Grippo to Andrew Spencer, Michael Allio, Thomas Jacobs, and even Joe Park from Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams’ season.

Unfortunately, Fleiss isn’t ready to reveal the next star of The Bachelor just yet. “Our casting choice for your next #TheBachelor will unite #BachelorNation and solve all of the world’s problems…” he said in another tweet

Fans might find out who the next bachelor is when Bachelor in Paradise concludes. But ABC is more likely to announce the new lead when Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette ends.

Michael A. says his ‘situation is complicated’

As a guest on The Jeremiah Show for Cleveland’s Q104, Michael A. addressed the rumors swirling about Bachelor Nation regarding his bachelor candidacy. “Am I the next Bachelor?” he started. “I’ve been asked a bunch of times by other people on what I’m trying to do next in terms of being a part of this show and everything.”

He mentioned his situation, calling it “complicated.” As a widow, single father, and business owner, Michael A. has a lot to juggle. “It’s like all of these different things if you’re really going into it for an engagement…it’s a little bit more complicated than that.”

Despite his roundabout answer, Michael A. didn’t really address the question at hand. “My point is I can’t tell you,” he concluded. “I’ve got really stringent NDA’s, and I’m not about to get sued.” Are those non-disclosure agreements because he’s slated to appear on the next season of The Bachelor? Only time will tell.

‘The Bachelor’ might be Greg Grippo, according to Reality Steve

While Fleiss said no official decision has been made about the new season, trusted spoiler source Reality Steve thinks Grippo will be the next bachelor. “What I’ve been hearing the past 5 days or so regarding the next Bachelor are this… it’s going to be Greg,” he tweeted on Aug. 19, a few days after Fleiss’ announcement.

“Obviously it’s never ‘official’ until ABC announces it (whenever that may be),” the spoiler king added. “But at this point I would be very surprised if it’s not him.”

Grippo became the unlikely villain on Thurston’s season. As such, it would make a lot of sense if ABC made Grippo the next bachelor. Bachelor Nation was shocked when Thurston accused Grippo of “gaslighting” her, what with his nice-guy personality throughout her season of The Bachelorette

As Fleiss said, they haven’t made any official decision yet. Stay tuned to Showbiz Cheat Sheet for updates on the next season of The Bachelor
