The musical acts on The Bachelor are known for being obscure. But this time some fans recognized the singer who appeared on the show because he was recently on The Masked Singer. [Warning spoilers for “Week 7!”]

‘The Bachelor’ showed Matt James making his picks for hometowns

“Week 7” was a very important episode for the season. That’s because it was the week right before hometowns.

The episode started with Pieper James, Kit Keenan, Jessenia Cruz, Abigail Heringer, Bri Springs, Rachael Kirkconnell, Michelle Young, Serena Pitt, Serena Chew, and Chelsea Vaughn being the remaining women. As if that wasn’t enough, Heather Martin from Colton Underwood’s season also tried to join the cast.

James turned down Martin because of the circumstances making all of the other women happy. Later in the episode, he had some tough conversations with the remaining women to decide who was going to hometowns. One of them got surprised by seeing a performance.

Aloe Blacc from ‘The Masked Singer performed on ‘The Bachelor’

Aloe Blacc is a singer most known for his singles “I Need a Dollar” and “The Man.” He recently appeared on The Masked Singer Season 4 as Mushroom and came in second place. He mostly stuck to soulful songs like “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell, “Valery” by Amy Winehouse, “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder and more.

Now, Blacc is back to performing as himself, and he surprisingly appeared in the “Week 7” episode of The Bachelor. James interrupted his time with the ladies to pull Rachael away to another room where Blacc was singing his song, “I Do.”

James already gave Rachael the rose so they were dancing together. “I am on the top of the world. I truly could not be happier right now. I’m head over heels in love,” Rachael said in her interview.

She said if James proposed at that moment it would have been a “done deal.” Now we know she’ll have a hometown date so fans will see him meet her family next week.

The Bachelor often gets flack for getting performers that no one has heard of, but some fans were excited to see Blacc. “First time in #TheBachelor history that I know the artist singing!!!!! Three cheers for Aloe Blacc,” one fan tweeted. Blacc responded with the praying hands emoji.

“Why is Twitter not blowing up about this @aloeblacc performance?! I LOVE his voice, LOVE!! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful,” another fan tweeted. “Glad you enjoyed,” Blacc wrote back.

The cast for season 25 might be more isolated. But there has been another performance earlier this season to follow tradition.

Temecula Road sang “Everything I Love” during James and Pieper’s carnival date. They’re not as well-known so once again fans tweeted about not knowing them.

But it looks like the show surprised some fans with Blacc’s performance. Perhaps this is the start of more crossovers with The Masked Singer.
