Peter Weber was looking forward to a fresh start when he joined The Bachelor in season 24. But that all changed when Hannah Brown exited the limo on opening night. Yes, the same Hannah Brown who eliminated Weber in season 15 of The Bachelorette showed up on the first night of The Bachelor. Although Weber thought he was over the former pageant winner, he admitted to being completely ‘blindsided” by The Bachelorette star’s appearance.

Weber opens up about Brown’s appearance

Weber was genuinely moving on after coming in third place in Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. So when she arrived on the first night of The Bachelor, Weber was completely caught off-guard.

“She starts coming out of the limo, I realize who it is [and] jaw-drop,” Weber shared.

According to Us Magazine, Weber revealed that he thought he was over Brown and was determined to find new love. But when she walked out of the limo, Weber questioned whether or not he was really over her.

“Before she came, before that first night, in my mind, I was over Hannah,” he stated. “I wouldn’t have taken this opportunity if I wasn’t. .. after I saw her that first night, I may have questioned if I was over her.”

Before being eliminated deep into the season, Weber was falling hard for Brown. Although things did not work out, Weber made it clear that their feelings for each other were very real.

Weber did not reveal too many details about the upcoming season of The Bachelor, but he did say that fans are going to see some “raw” emotions from both of them. Given how things ended between the two, it’s going to be interesting to see their interactions.

What is Brown doing on ‘The Bachelor’?

The trailer for season 24 of The Bachelor reveals that Brown will show up on the first night of introductions. We also know that she will host a group date and that she and Weber will have an intense talk backstage.

Little details have been revealed about Brown’s involvement, but a press release from ABC teased that their conversation will leave them both “confused.” Whatever that means.

With Weber looking to find love with the other season 24 contestants, he will definitely need to work out his feelings for Brown before moving on. They will also need to determine if they still share feelings for each other.

If they do, then things could get really interesting for the other contestants on The Bachelor. That said, we know that Brown likely did not participate in the entire season, so hopefully Weber can put the past behind him quickly.

The Bachelor was filmed while Brown was working on Dancing With the Stars, leaving little room in her schedule for both shows.

Weber talks strategies for finding love

While Brown’s appearance on this season of The Bachelor was a huge curveball, Weber had a solid strategy going into the reality dating show. Taking advice from pervious leads, Weber revealed that he did not want to fall for anyone too early.

Instead, he took things slowly with each of the contestants and kept his heart open. We do not know which contestants made it far, but it sounds like Weber is happy with the results.

“I wanted to do a good job of not letting that [lead to] closing off from relationships that started off a little bit slower. That was some advice I got from previous Bachelors, and I wanted really to take that to heart. I’m happy I did,” he explained.

Weber added that he was worried that he would fall for someone on The Bachelor who was not really looking for a long-term relationship. But, unlike Brown and her finalist, Jed Wyatt, Weber made sure that everything was above board before handing out his roses.

Chris Harrison teases “wild” conclusion this season on ‘The Bachelor’

Host Chris Harrison has a reputation for making bold claims when it comes to The Bachelor. For season 24, Harrison promised fans that they are in for a “wild, turbulent ending.”

Without giving too much away, Harrison said that Weber does not have a preference when it comes to women. In other words, his contestants are among the most diverse the show has ever seen.

Harrison noted that Weber’s season is a clear break from what fans have watched in previous years and might usher in a whole new direction for the series.

“I don’t think there’s ever again going to be a ‘traditional’ show. I think those days are long gone. It is a turbulent, wild, emotional, gut-wrenching ride right up until the very end. You won’t predict how this comes to a conclusion,” Harrison revealed.

We do not know if the crazy ending has anything to do with Brown, but it certainly looks like she will play a part in Weber’s journey on the show. Hopefully, he can avoid any more heartbreak and finds the person who is just as genuine as he is.

The Bachelor premieres Monday, January 6, on ABC.
