Peter Weber’s relationship with his family was front and center on his season of The Bachelor. He is very close with his family and still lives at home, so their opinions obviously mattered a lot to him throughout his Bachelor journey.

So, when Peter went directly against their wishes and chose to get back together with Madison Prewett, it caused a very noticeable rift in their family, especially with his mom. So, where do things stand with Peter and his mom, Barabara Weber now?

Peter Weber’s mom was not a fan of Madison Prewett

Peter took both Prewett and Hannah Ann Sluss to meet his family. Peter’s parents and brother all immediately liked Sluss. They felt that she was truly in love with him. When they met Prewett, things went south.

Barbara later sent a DM to blogger Reality Steve to shed light on what happened.

“Unfortunately what wasn’t shown was how it all started,” she wrote. “Madison had us wait 3 hours because she didn’t want to come in to meet us. My son begged her to do so. Once in she never offered an apology (keep in mind we had traveled across the world to meet both girls). When I asked her if she loved my son she said NO! And that she would not accept a proposal in 4 days. (Then what was she doing there?) My son Jack pointed out to Peter that in the small time he was there she was all about herself and not about Peter. Trust me when I say all that glitters is not gold!!! Thank you.”

At the finale, Peter and Prewett announced that they were together and trying to figure out how to make things work between them. Barbara was obviously upset and said that they would just have to fail for Peter to succeed.

Where does Peter Weber stand with his mom now?

Now that time has passed since the finale and Peter and Prewett are no longer together, are Peter and his mom back on good terms?

He recently went on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast to update fans on how things are going with his mom.

“We are at a really good place as well right now,” he told hosts Becca Kufrin and Rachel Lindsay. “Our relationship is just so close, like I’m sure you guys have with your moms, and I just… I know she’s just my number one fan and only wants what’s best for me and that whole thing obviously came from a place of love and could the delivery have been different? Absolutely, she’s the first one to admit that but from having that stuff happen on stage and I didn’t go home for a couple of days because I was still in the hotel for a couple days after, but when I did go home… the way my family dynamic works is we are so close.”

Basically, their relationship is just like it was before the whole Bachelor fiasco.

“We are doing really good,” he said. “We have that relationship where we come in and we give each other a hug and nothing is going to get in the way of that and it’s all good, we will always have each other’s back. You know we are family and those are the closest people to me. And I’m very lucky to have that kind of relationship.”

He did say that he does now agree with his mother and think that mothers know best.
