‘The Bachelor’: Is This The Real Reason for the Rachel Lindsay and Raven Gates Feud
Despite the constant competition between the contestants on The Bachelor, pasts seasons have shown that one of the best things that come out of the show are the life-long friendships. After spending countless of hours together, isolated and deprived of all technology, many of the women form incredible bonds. Rachel Lindsay Abasolo and Raven Gates were no exception to this rule. The pair met on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor and hit it off fairly early on.
The Bachelor to The Bachelorette
In fact, the pair were so close that Gates was one of the people to help advise Lindsay Abasolo about romance during her stint as The Bachelorette. Up until recently, the pair seemed to be as thick thieves. In the past, the friends had traveled together and even gone on double dates. Which is why much of Bachelor Nation was shocked to find out that the pair were no longer friends.

Recently, Lindsay Abasolo was a guest on Watch What Happens Live. During her time in the hot seat, a fan called in to question her about her estranged friendship with Gates.”Hi, my question is for Rachel. What happened between you and your ex-friend, Raven,” the fan questioned. Apparently, the caller wasn’t the first or only person to be curious about the falling out between The Bachelor alums. The show’s host, Andy Cohen, shared that it was, in fact, the number one question he received for Lindsay Abasolo.
The pair will never be friends again
“I can’t say. I promised I wouldn’t say, but it was enough for me to not want to be friends with her anymore,” the former bachelorette stated candidly. “You’re still not friends with her,” Cohen probed.”No, and I never will be,” Lindsay Abasolo said firmly. Of course, this sent shockwaves through the bachelor nation and fans and alumni alike began weighing in. The most notable of which was former bachelor, Colton Underwood. “Shocker. Rachel mad at another person…does she like anyone,” Underwood commented on an Us Weekly Instagram post.

When fans began to question Underwood about the feud and what went down between the former friends her simply commented on his own disklike for Lindsay Abasolo. He claimed that she was the cause of strain in his own relationship with Cassie Randolph.“I’m not weighing in on the Rachel/Raven drama. I could care less about that, not my business. What is my business is the countless number of times she’s spoke[n] poorly of me… including that time she ran her mouth about me to Cassie…Funny thing is I have never met her,” the former bachelor declared.
But, just what did happen between these former friends? Gates has yet to comment and the rest of the bachelor alumni have been fairly tight-lipped also. Even Reality Steve (who is infamous for knowing and predicting news about a great number of things in the franchise) admitted that he had no clue what had caused the rift.
Reality Steve weighs in
“PSA: I know all of you are curious, but I have nothing to offer on the Rachel/Raven feud. If they want address it, they will. Hopefully, that will stop the influx of emails and DMs asking me about it,” Reality Steve tweeted. Though there is no concrete evidence about what happened between Gates and Lindsay Abasolo, a user did respond to the tweet claiming to know what went down between the former friends.
A Reddit post claims trash-talking is the reason for the feud
“There were some screenshots of text posted to a Facebook page a while back, but have since been deleted. Supposedly, their [sic] was a group chat trashing Rachel, and Raven was participating with other BIP cast members. Astrid was on the chain or found out about it. The firl who posted the screenshots claimed to know Astrid, and said that Astrid sent the conversation to Rachel. Could be part of the reason probably,” the tweet read.
While this is all speculative, if it is true, it would be an excellent cause for Lindsay Abasolo and Gates to terminate their friendship. The Bachelor world is a small one, and typically trash-talking and gossip travels fast. While it’s unfortunate that these two have ended their friendship, if there’s any merit to the aforementioned theory, it’s likely for the best.
