‘The Bachelor’ Subreddit Is in a Frenzy Over What to Do With Recent News — ‘It’s Unfair to Tayshia to Be Hidden on This Sub’

The Bachelor franchise has a massive following on the website, Reddit. Fans go there to discuss everything about the show, and it’s many spin-offs; however, in recent days, The Bachelor subreddit is torn over one specific person — Tayshia Adams.

Did ABC announce a new lead for ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16?

Many news outlets are reporting that a new Bachelorette star is replacing Clare Crawley — Tayshia Adams.

“BREAKING: CONGRATS TAYSHIA!” wrote Entertainment Tonight correspondent Lauren Zima. “ET has learned Tayshia is the new #TheBachelorette. That doesn’t mean we won’t see Clare Crawley’s journey, and I can’t WAIT to watch them both. This will be a franchise first.”

Several outlets also include the news that Crawley ended her time on the show because she fell in love so quickly with one of her contestants. So, instead of one journey to find love, Bachelor fans will get to see two.

‘The Bachelor’ subreddit is in a disagreement over the Tayshia Adams news

“It’s unfair to Tayshia to be hidden on this sub,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “She deserves flares and to be posted about just like every other Bachelorette. Everyone already knows all BN is posting about it.”

Many users point out that the sources who broke the news are more than tabloids. Reputable websites, including Entertainment Tonight, reported on the new Bachelorette, so many viewers want Adams to have unique flares like the other leads.

“Is it even still considered a spoiler?” asked another fan. “They announced her officially already. If people complain, too bad, but this is not a secret anymore. They’re not being secretive about it. It’s everywhere!”

Others point out that it seems silly for every post on the subreddit to be marked as a spoiler — and blurred out — when Adams’ role has become public knowledge.

“Agreed!” another Redditor wrote. “It’s posted by major news sources. She needs the hype that everybody else gets!”

‘The Bachelor’ subreddit moderators are working on what to do with ‘The Bachelorette’ news

“Can the mods poll this sub to see who is unspoiled?” requested another user. “You have to be living in a cave to not know at this point.”

The official moderators of The Bachelor subreddit did create a poll to figure out how to move forward with Adams as The Bachelorette. They traditionally wait for ABC to announce the news of a new lead on the show. However, many fans think the rules must bend for this spoiler.

“Rachel [Lindsay] very clearly didn’t call it a rumor or speculation, she called it a full announcement,” another fan wrote.

Lindsay is the co-host of the official Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, so fans point out that it is as close to official as they are going to get.

Others want to see an announcement on Good Morning America as the other stars received. Hopefully, ABC sets the record straight soon.
