Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen broke up

After months of speculation, Kufrin confirmed that she and Yrigoyen broke up on Sept. 1 in an Instagram post and during an episode of the podcast Bachelor Happy Hour.

“With a heavy heart, Garrett and I have come to the loving conclusion to end our engagement. All that we will share is that we still have nothing but love and respect for one another even though we’ve decided to go down our own separate paths,” Kufrin wrote on Instagram.

In another Instagram post, Kufrin announced that she moved to Los Angeles following her split from Yrigoyen.

“After a crazy couple of months, I made the last-minute decision to sign a lease (sight unseen) in an area that I was totally unfamiliar with. But I’m here to embrace this new adventure and put down some roots in the City of Angels during this next chapter in my life,” she captioned the photo.

Rachel Lindsay thinks Becca Kufrin is doing really well

Together, Lindsay and Kufrin host the podcast Bachelor Happy Hour. The two are also close friends, and it is clear that Lindsay has helped support Kufrin as she heals from her breakup.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Lindsay praised Kufrin for her vulnerability and strength, saying:

“I am close with Becca and, you know, she just announced her breakup. And then she also just announced that she moved to L.A. And so what I think it’s great with what Becca is doing, and I’m not sure if you heard on our podcast, but she gave a very emotional statement about her breakup with Garrett, which is more than we’ve seen him do… And I think that it’s very strong of her to show that emotion and to be so vulnerable and honest when so many people are criticizing her right now for the breakup, which it definitely takes two people and that’s not fair.

I’m glad that she’s starting a new chapter. She’s doing what she needs to do for herself. And she’s surrounding herself with a good support system of family and friends who can help her get through this and she’ll be stronger and better for it.”

Rachel Lindsay on why the relationship ended

Being a close friend of Kufrin, Lindsay has made her dislike of Yrigoyen clear on multiple occasions. Before Kufrin and Yrigoyen’s breakup was announced, Lindsay told Us Weekly why she thought the two were having trouble in their relationship.

According to Lindsay, Yrigoyen’s “Thin Blue Line” Instagram post from June 2020 was the first time Kufrin and Yrigoyen’s relationship underwent any sort of real challenges.

“He’s a very nice guy… But what I also realize is their relationship hadn’t been tested. And then you have what happened with the pandemic, with Black Lives Matter. And you’re seeing a lot of people’s true colors come out,” she said.
