Matt Reeves has been dropping teasers about his upcoming superhero film, The Batman, for months. And just days ahead of DC Fandome, the writer/producer/director revealed the film’s official movie logo and artwork, giving fans a little treat before the main event.

Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ is expected to resume filming soon

Like most of the world film sets, The Batman was forced to shut down production in March 2020 due to COVID-19 safety measures. But the movie is scheduled to resume filming this fall as studios begin to reopen.

Reeves’ co-writer Mattson Tomlin confirmed that the project was being moved indoors for safety reasons. But he told Comic Book that the shift in filming locations wouldn’t affect the movie overall.

“I mean, the movie is the movie, and I think that right now the plan is to just execute that vision,” Tomlin said. “They were quite a ways into shooting as it was, and so it really is just how do you finish safely? How do you make sure that everybody can show up for work and then go home and all be okay?”

Tomlin also promised that Reeves’ vision for the DC film will blow fans away. “I’m so excited for what he’s doing with that movie,” he teased. “I think that people are gonna lose their minds.”

The director has only revealed a few pictures from the set

In early March, Reeves surprised fans with pictures from the set of The Batman. He shared three pictures on Twitter, showing different angles of Robert Pattinson’s caped crusader standing next to his Batmobile.

In an overhead photo, Batman is seen standing next to the car with its headlights illuminating the dark streets of Gotham. And in a side shot, the red taillights and wing-like corners of the Batmobile pierce the fog surrounding it. The third picture reveals the car’s massive rear engine, as well as the muscular details in Batman’s suit.

Just a few days ahead of DC FanDome — a two-day virtual fan event celebrating DC — Reeves treated fans with another surprise. On Twitter, the filmmaker shared the official movie poster and logo for The Batman, featuring a red and black image of the superhero standing atop a building in Gotham.

“Excited to share the very first look at our official #TheBatman logo, and some very cool additional #DCFanDome artwork by the amazing @jimlee,” he captioned the tweet.

In a trailer for DC FanDome, Reeves also hinted that he would be revealing footage from the upcoming film. “There is no way that I could come here and not bring a look at the movie,” he teased in the clip.

It isn’t clear what footage or photos fans will get to see at DC FanDome. But many are hoping to see a clearer image of Pattinson and also catch a glimpse of Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman and  Colin Farrell’s Penguin. Hopefully, as production restarts, Reeves will treat Batfans with more inside looks.
