John McCook to star in Food Network holiday movie

Like many soap stars, McCook’s newest role will have him in a Christmas movie. Although many fans expect the film to be on the Hallmark Channel, it will air on the Food Network. According to, McCook will appear in the network’s upcoming film Candy Coated Christmas.

Candy Coated Christmas is the first original film from the cooking channel. It will feature the acting debut of The Pioneer Woman host Ree Drummond. The movie will also be a family affair for McCook, whose daughter Molly McCook stars in the lead role.

Like her famous dad, Molly followed her dreams of acting. She’s had several credits to her name, but she’s mostly known for playing Mandy Baxter during the last three seasons of Last Man Standing. Now, she’ll get a chance to make magic with her new film.

Molly’s character in Candy Coated Christmas is a marketing executive named Molly Gallant. When she finds herself down on her luck, the executive takes a trip to her late mother’s hometown of Peppermint Hollow. During her journey, she befriends a local baker named Bee (Drummond) and experiences the true meaning of Christmas.

No further details about the film have been released. But Candy Coated Christmas is generating a lot of buzz for the Food Network.

John McCook’s other acting credits

The Bold and the Beautiful fans will be tuning in to watch McCook’s holiday film. Aside from his role on the CBS soap opera, McCook’s starred in other T.V. and film projects. His past T.V. credits include guest roles on Alice, Murder, She Wrote, and Magnum, P.I.

His movie credits include Epoch, Body of Work, and Christmas Without You. Now, he’s adding another film to the list with Candy Coated Christmas. Although fans are used to McCook’s dramatic soap opera work, his new flick will be a sweet treat.
