Eric Forrester was diagnosed with erective dysfunction on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’

McCook is one of the original cast members of The Bold and the Beautiful. His character Eric is the Forrester patriarch and an integral part of the show. Eric is a sophisticated and viral man; however, he experienced intimacy issues last year.

Eric’s erectile dysfunction left him unable to pleasure his wife, Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer). He then asked Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to sleep with Quinn to fulfill her desires. Fans on a Reddit thread criticized Eric’s medical condition and the situation with Quinn and Carter.

“Eric is super-rich. He can buy all kinds of stuff to fix it! This is dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb,” wrote one viewer.

“There are other ways to please your partner, but I think Eric’s ego could be getting in the way,” another user replied.

John McCook wanted the storyline treated seriously

When McCook learned about Eric’s storyline, The Bold and the Beautiful actor was unsure. In an interview with Soaps.com, he recalled how he was initially against the idea when executive producer Brad Bell broached the storyline. ‘Well, I’ll play it, even though I disagree with it, as long as I know that in the end, Eric’s going to realize this wasn’t a very good idea!’”

As the storyline unfolded, McCook gave his best performance. In the scene where Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) confronts him about Quinn and Carter’s affair, fans applaud the actor’s work. Eric confessing his condition and telling his son he’s afraid to be alone earned McCook his Emmy win.

Although the storyline had criticisms, it was important to McCook, who wanted to touch on the serious issue. “I suppose it did get a bit more comical when Donna and the honey entered the picture, but I tried to pull it back a little bit because I didn’t want to treat this like a joke. It’s a very serious problem for many people.”

Eric Forrester is cured of his condition on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’

The Bold and the Beautiful magically cured Eric’s condition thanks to his ex-wife Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis). During an intimate conversation, Donna confessed her love for Eric, which got a rise out of him. Although Donna was a big help to Eric, he decided to stay with Quinn instead of reuniting with Donna.
