‘The Bold and the Beautiful’: Scott Clifton Discusses a Possible Liam and Brooke Affair

The Bold and the Beautiful leading man Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is the show’s hunk. Since 2010, Liam’s romances with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) have been the show’s cornerstone. He’s currently married to Hope, yet fans always wonder what would happen if Liam slept with one of her relatives.

Liam isn’t the best husband on The Bold and the Beautiful. He’s constantly cheated on Hope in the past, and she continues to take him back. Hope’s mother, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), is her and Liam’s biggest supporter.

Brooke always encourages Hope to fight for Liam, even when he is with Steffy. While Brooke’s actions are deemed as a mother wanting her daughter’s happiness, fans can’t help but wonder if she secretly wants Liam for herself.

Brooke tends to sleep with her relatives’ husbands. Her affair with her son-in-law, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), led to Hope’s conception and destroyed her relationship with Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones). Then in 2010, she accidentally slept with Hope’s boyfriend, Oliver Jones (Zack Conroy), at a masquerade party.

It appears Brooke’s learned her lesson, yet that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating on an affair with Liam. While many would love to see the controversial pairing, it won’t happen.

Scott Clifton doesn’t want an affair between the characters

Liam and Brooke’s possible affair would create a lot of drama on The Bold and the Beautiful. Hope’s reaction and Liam and Brooke begging for forgiveness would make it worthwhile. However, Clifton hopes that his character wouldn’t make the mistake of sleeping with his mother-in-law.

Clifton opened up about a potential Liam and Brooke pairing during an interview with Soap Opera Digest. “On set, we joke that it’s only a matter of time before Liam and Brooke hook up, but the truth is, I hope that doesn’t happen because they really do have a true friendship.”

The actor went on to explain what makes their friendship unique. “There’s a purely platonic bond thee, and they’re both constantly hated by everybody around them. They try to do the right thing all the time and don’t. I think they see each other as a support system, and I hope it stays that way for a long time.”

Liam Spencer continues to break Hope Logan’s heart

For the time being, a Liam and Brooke affair won’t happen on The Bold and the Beautiful. Yet, Liam will continue to hurt Hope. Liam’s waffling between her and Steffy will never end.

With Steffy now single again following Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) death, Liam is back in her orbit. But Hope isn’t about to sit back and let Steffy steal her man. With Brooke’s help, Hope prepares for another battle over Liam.

As Liam contemplates which woman to be with, Brooke will steer him in the right direction.
