‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ star Tanner Novlan surprised by firing

Novlan became the soap opera community’s newest hunk when he joined The Bold and the Beautiful in July 2020. Finn became the new love interest for Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), which delighted fans. Viewers followed every step of their whirlwind romance, tragically cut short by Finn’s mother, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown).

While fans were hopeful Finn would survive the shooting, it appears he’s gone for good. In an interview for the upcoming issue of Soap Opera Digest, Novlan talked about his firing. “I was pretty surprised. But that’s the nature of soap opera. Anything can happen at any time, and that’s ultimately what keeps people engaged with the show.”

Yet, Novlan has no resentment toward his boss or the show and is grateful for the opportunity. “It was such an honor to be so well-received from the fans and critics. Then for everyone getting behind Finn and saying Finn was the breath of fresh air for the Hope/Liam/Steffy triangle, to be able to provide that for the fans and the show alike was a real honor.”

Co-star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood was upset over his departure

Novlan and his fans weren’t the only ones upset about his exit from The Bold and the Beautiful. His co-star Wood was heartbroken by the news since she and Novlan had become friends. “She was surprised because we have so many SINN fans. She was speechless, and I said, ‘Well, I think that’s the point of it.’”

Novlan and Wood developed a close bond while working, and their fun camaraderie carried over onscreen. The chemistry between Steffy and Finn is what made them a popular couple. While Novlan’s exit means the end of Sinn, it doesn’t mean the end of his friendship with Wood and his other co-stars. “They are a great family, and we’ll remain friends. You don’t go on a show like B&B and not create great relationships.”

What’s next for the actor?

The Bold and the Beautiful fans will no longer see Novlan on the soap opera; however, they’ll be able to capture him in other projects. The actor will reprise his role as Gregory Manes in the fourth season of Roswell, New Mexico, set to premiere in June 2022. According to IMDB.com, Novlan is also set to star in an upcoming pilot called Puckheads.
