This is definitely not the week to be a fan of The Bold and the Beautiful if you’re rooting for Brooke. Because she fell, and she fell hard, this week. Unfortunately, her “fall” involves falling off the proverbial wagon — and back into her alcoholism. Eventually, too, she comes clean to Ridge and Hope about her fall — but not about her kiss with Deacon Claus. Can the people she loves get her help before it’s too late?

[Spoiler alert: Spoilers for this past week’s episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful are ahead.]

On ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ Brooke’s secrets threatened to destroy her

This week’s The Bold and the Beautiful featured Brooke waking up from New Year’s Eve with a head full of regrets. Brooke really had to think about her life choices on the Jan. 3 episode of the show. Brooke was really hoping that her ex, Deacon, wouldn’t go blabbing all over Los Angeles about the kiss they never should have had.

“Brooke has two options here. She can either cover up her sins and hope her secret stays buried or tell on herself, beg for forgiveness, and get herself some help. This is a defining moment sure to show what kind of person Brooke really is,” we previously supported.

Right now, though, the biggest obstacle between Brooke and Ridge fully imploding (which all but seems inevitable at this point) is Deacon’s big mouth. And while Brooke would love nothing more than to think that Deacon can keep a secret, the evidence suggests otherwise.

When Brooke came clean, Ridge supported her

One of the biggest fears that Brooke had was about Ridge not supporting her if he found out the truth. But, as our previous The Bold and the Beautiful speculation wondered, “the truth” is two-fold here.

On the Jan. 7 episode of the show, Brooke finally revealed to Ridge that she fell off the wagon — and he immediately supported her. He helped her get to a meeting, and promised to be there for her. And, so far, he’s fulfilling the promise.

But the reality is, Ridge did not yet find out the truth about Brooke’s forbidden kiss. It remains to be seen if Ridge continues to be this supportive when he finds out the whole truth.

But she only told him half the truth

Even though the Jan. 7 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful featured Brooke coming clean to Ridge — and Ridge getting her the help she needed — it was only half the truth. According to Soaps.com, Brooke still hasn’t come clean to Ridge about how she kissed Deacon on New Year’s Eve. It’s probably prudent that she does so before her grandson, Douglas, does it for her. (Caught by a Stephanie Douglas namesake, eh Brooke? Some things never change!)

Meanwhile, as the threat of her half-truth continues to haunt her, there’s another enemy lurking in the corner in the form of Sheila Carter. While Sheila has been forced to stay on ice when it comes to Finn and baby Hayes (thanks, Taylor!), she’s now turned the hatred she had for Steffy toward Brooke. And it’s so bad, in fact, that Taylor is beginning to wonder if Sheila’s really committed to being the “kinder, stable person” she’s promising to be.

Can Taylor realize how bad Sheila really is before it’s too late? We’ll just have to tune in to upcoming episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful to find out for sure.
